Is 4/4 enough thickness to plane and joint to 3/4 final?

Is 4/4 enough thickness to plane and joint to 3/4 final?

Im building a bed frame but I'm not sure if buying 4/4 will be enough to mill to 3/4 over 8 ft. Last time I bought 4/4 I was able to mill it to 3/4 over 2ft but I don't know about 8ft. I cant buy 6/4 so the next step up would have to be 8/4. What should I do? Thanks!

In my opinion something looks off, like its missing something. Are my colors too plain / neutral? Help please. Thanks! (Ignore the curtains that are clipped up. I was cleaning)

I'm gonna be a sophomore MechE next year and I wanna do something over the summer. Thinking about building something and self-teaching myself FEA, DFMA, GD&T, stress analysis type stuff to put on my resume for internship hunting.

The thing is I'm worried I'll put it on there and then get absolutely grilled in an interview when they ask me about it. Like I don't wanna be the guy who lists skills I barely watched a YouTube tutorial on.

Should I even bother putting it on there if I'm just gonna have surface level knowledge? Or is there actually a way to get good enough at this stuff that I could talk about it confidently without sounding stupid
