As the title suggests, I’ve been walking into dealerships in Ontario with my cv and asking about sales representative positions.
So far, I’ve visited around 50 dealerships and had a couple of interviews, but none of them has led to a job offer. Do I simply need to visit more dealerships?
I think my interviews with the sales managers have gone reasonably well, although there’s definitely room for improvement. I also have one year of door-to-door sales experience.
I’d appreciate any advice from people in the industry
I’m a recent nursing graduate in Canada with a background in biochemistry and healthcare, and I’ve been trying to transition into a sales career.
Over the past few months, I’ve applied to dozens of SDR/BDR roles as well as pharmaceutical and medical device sales positions, but I haven’t had much success getting interviews.
I’ve also reaching out to sales reps, territory managers, and hiring managers at companies like Abbott, J&J, Eli Lilly, and other med/pharma companies. Most people have been kind and willing to chat, but no luck so far.
For those who successfully broke into B2B sales, medical device sales, pharma sales, or tech sales:
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
