Thinking of Going into Sales

I am currently a Service Advisor making around 6-8k a month. My whole family sells cars and I have done service for a couple years. I am just getting burnt on the constant you’re the reason my car broke. I am thinking of making the swap. Has anybody made the swap from the drive to the sales floor? If so what brands would you recommend and how was the change? I’ve been thinking of Toyota but not sure.

How’s my pay plan?

So I’m a few months into car sales and I’m just debating if this is good or not

3000 a month salary (750 a week no matter what)
0-9 cars makes you no money
Once you hit 10 cars you get a 1000 dollar bonus
After 10 cars is 250 per car
50 dollar bonus for every 4k plus deal (front+back)
25 dollar bonus for every warranty
Curb purchase (ie I find someone to sell us their car) 100 for the first and goes up 25 dollars per car 15 curbs is equal to 4000 dollars

Dealership has 7 salesman including me and averages 60-90 cars a month

2025 certifed pre-owned car with only ~5K miles on it... red flag??

I am shopping online for a used car and see 2 2025 RAV4s with only 5K and 5,733 miles on them.

CarFax reports look clean. Any reason these might be for sale with such low mileage and only a year old?

Traded in my truck 5 months ago for a jeep

I traded my truck into a dealership 5 months ago. It was a mess to begin with. They said they were paying off my loan within 15 days, they lied. Finance company called bcuz my truck payment became late due to non payment. The dealership also said they were transferring my truck license plate to the jeep. So I transferred my insurance over to the jeep and cancelled the truck insurance. After 20 days, me calling dealership everyday, they finally paid off the truck. After 30 days, I got a letter from dmv saying I owe a $50 fee for lapse of insurance on the truck. They never transferred my plates so I had to pay the fine and they eventually got me new plates. What a nightmare.

Now fast forward 5 months later I just got a call from dealership that after they paid off my truck, allegedly the finance company sent the title to me back in march. I never received the title bcuz why would they send it to me instead of the dealership. So now the dealership wants me to go to the dmv and get an instant title and then send the title to them. DMV lines can take up to 4 hours in some areas and it’s a huge convenience for me. They said they will pay for the title and the shipping. But why should I even bother. They’ve been a nightmare to deal with. Their dealership is over 2 hours away. They sold my truck 2 days after I traded it in. What should I do? Am I obligated to even help them out or can I just ignore them?

Does anyone want to make an extra $50 per deal?

I own an insurance agency and work with a lot of local dealerships. I know how frustrating it is when a customer is ready to sign and suddenly:

• can’t get insured
• rates come back way higher than expected
• need an SR-22
• have tickets/accidents
• are first-time buyers
• or spend forever shopping insurance while the deal stalls

I try to make the insurance side quick and painless so customers can actually drive off the lot without holding everything up.

If you refer somebody to me and they end up starting a policy, I’ll send you $50 as a thank you every time.

DM me and I’ll send over my direct number so customers can just call/text me from the dealership.

PS: If someone’s stressing over a $500/month payment on the four square and I save them $150/month on their insurance, the deal suddenly gets a lot easier to sell 🤷‍♂️

Deciding btwn 5 seater or 7 seater...

Pls help me decide between a 5 seater or 7 seater for my next car! Need a new a car asap. We have a 2yo and planning to expand our family, at least 1-2 more kids. We have my niece & nephews often, or a family member with us etc. I commute so I always have extra clothes & just "stuff" in my car. I had a 2024 Mazda CX-5, loved it. It did start feeling a bit tight if I had my son in the car, groceries, stroller, other bags etc.

Okay so, my Husband recently got the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid. His is the "family car". I planned on getting another 5 seater thinking eh, we don't really need two big SUV's since we'll use hubby's more. But the more I think about it, it makes more sense long term to get another 7 seater (looking at the Santa Fe). I know i'll want a bigger car within the next 5 years. But also, I can wait 5 years for the bigger SUV, it's not an URGENT matter.

Pls share your thoughts & advice, pls be kind. Thank you!

Dealership taking forever to ship vehicle

I bought a used vehicle nearly three weeks ago. The dealership is out of state, has great reviews, and a friend of mine from the area uses that dealership for oil changes/maintenance and loves them.
The sales process was no haggling, great price offered, up front, everything.
They promised to overnight the paperwork, but then ended up sending it two day delivery...but didn't even get it out the door for a couple of days. All in all, it was a full week and two days from the moment I told them "yes, I want this car" to them saying "ok, we have everything we need." Then they took another two days to line up transport, which fell through, then fell through again. Now they're promising transport to pick it up in a couple of days. I have been without a car for over two weeks, because they originally told me I'd have the new vehicle by 5/1, so I turned in my lease on 4/30 instead of renewing it for another month. My mistake, and I'll own that. Still, it's been rough figuring out things in an area that doesn't have public transit.

The dealership has my money, and I don't want to be a royal asshat but at the same time, I'm extremely frustrated to be in this position. Any advice? Do I even have leverage to ask them to do anything to make it right, and if so, what would even be appropriate? It's not like I'm going to be taking the vehicle back to them for oil changes, etc.
I wish I'd just flown over there at the first sign of delays and just handled it all in person, but working insane hours these days and I honestly thought I could trust them to follow through quickly.

Help with care sales?!?!

I’m very new to car sales and I’m looking for options that other sales people at my dealership aren’t familiar with so I can get that extra step ahead of them. We already practice Facebook marketplace, cold calls, AutoHub, a customer crm, and of course walk ups. What’re ways I can get ahead that aren’t currently being used.

I want to be the top sales rep at my dealership

Im 21F that recently started at a dealership and im just very hungry. I have no previous sales experience (only as a server) and I just dont like losing. Theres a guy that kind of trained me (not really) that is so good at sales and will sell 3 cars a day. But he is a gatekeeper. I really want to beat him, i believe i can. But i just dont know how to get more leads and work my way there. I feel like im lacking confidence and just feel awkward staying behind a person that told me they are just “looking around”. I dont want to bother them hunting them down or them to leave because i didnt stay. Thats my biggest issue.

Plus, sometimes i just dont know what to say. im bilingual too, but i feel like my English can be very broken sometimes.

Any tips on getting more leads, some phrases i could say, or even tips on being more confident?

I want to make this work and i want to be the best at it.

Found a Solid 2021 Tesla Model 3 Deal, your thoughts on This Price?

Hey everyone, been hunting for a used EV and stumbled on a 2021 Tesla Model 3 listed at $28,500 with 42,000 miles. The price seems fair based on what I’ve seen in the market.

For my daily routine, this could work well, it has decent range for commutes and errands, plus access to Superchargers. I’m just not sure if the mileage is a red flag for battery wear or future costs. I’d love to hear from Model 3 owners or anyone who’s bought used recently.

Does this sound like a reasonable deal in today’s market, or should I hold out for something with lower miles?
