If someone copied your skincare routine exactly, would it work for them?

I was thinking about this the other day after I gave a friend a few basic skincare tips.

It made me realize something I hadn’t really stopped to think about before. If someone used my whole skincare routine, same products, same order, same consistency, I honestly don’t know if they’d get the same results.

A few years ago, I probably would’ve said yes right away. I used to think that if something worked for me, it would probably work for anyone with similar skin. But the more I’ve learned about skincare, the more I’ve seen how unpredictable it can be. Lifestyle, climate, stress, sleep, hormones, and genetics can all affect skin in ways a routine can’t fully control.

That doesn’t mean other people’s recommendations aren’t helpful. They are. I’ve learned a lot from hearing what worked for other people, and I’ve avoided plenty of mistakes that way too. I just don’t see recommendations as a promise anymore. They’re a starting point. My routine works for me because I’ve changed it over time, not because it’s the right routine for everyone.

That’s what makes skincare frustrating and interesting at the same time. Two people can do the exact same thing and get completely different results, and neither of them is necessarily doing it wrong. That’s probably why I care more now about figuring out what my own skin actually needs instead of trying to copy someone else’s results.

If someone copied your skincare routine exactly, do you think it would work for them?

Can you trade without a VPS?

For the first couple of years, I didn’t use one.

I traded from my personal computer, and it was fine most of the time. My internet was stable, I wasn’t using automated strategies, and I never felt the need for anything else.

Then I started hearing more experienced traders talk about VPS hosting as if it were part of the setup.

That made me wonder whether I was missing something, or whether a VPS only matters for certain traders.

The more I looked into it, the clearer it became that there isn’t one right answer. It depends on how you trade. If you place a few manual trades a week, your needs are probably very different from someone running Expert Advisors, trading bots, or several platforms all day.

I’d be interested to hear how other traders see it.

Have you ever reached the point where a VPS felt necessary?

Or are you still trading just fine without one?

I’d like to hear what changed your mind, or why you decided it wasn’t worth it for your style.

Which trading VPS are you using, and why?

There are a lot of VPS providers out there, and if you look into it long enough, you’ll find that traders have different preferences.

Some traders use TradingVPS.io. Others have used ForexVPS.net for years. You’ll also hear people mention Beeks Financial Cloud, CNS, V2 Cloud, and regular cloud providers.

So I started wondering: what are traders actually using right now?

Not the one with the biggest ad budget.

Not the one at the top of Google.

The one you use for your own trading.

If you’re willing to share, I’d like to know:

- Which VPS provider you use
- What platform you trade on, like MT4, MT5, NinjaTrader, or cTrader
- How long you’ve been using it
- Why you picked it
- Whether you’d recommend it or choose something else if you were starting today

Posts like this get more useful over time because they show what traders are actually using, not just what comparison sites promote.

VPN vs VPS for Polymarket — what are you actually using?

I’ve been thinking about how people set up Polymarket. A lot of traders start with a VPN because it’s simple: connect through another location and keep using your own computer. For the occasional trade, that makes sense.

But once you’re running several markets, keeping sessions open for hours, using browser automation, or layering other tools on top of Polymarket, your local machine matters more. Your internet connection, browser, and computer power all become part of the setup.

A VPS changes that. You’re not just sending traffic through another server. The trading setup itself runs somewhere else, usually in a data center. That can help keep browser sessions alive, maintain longer WebSocket connections, run automation, or take your home connection out of the critical path. Ping alone doesn’t tell the full story. TTFB, WebSocket stability, browser responsiveness, and routing consistency all affect how it feels to use.

I attached a comparison that walks through the differences between a VPN and a VPS for Polymarket.

If you’re using Polymarket, what are you running right now: VPN, VPS, both, or neither? And if you changed setups at some point, did you notice any difference in browser speed, connection stability, order execution, or how smooth the whole thing felt?

CME Is Moving Toward 24/7 Trading, Has It Changed How You Trade?

CME is moving some futures products closer to 24/7 trading, but that does not mean every contract is open all day, every day. Right now, CME offers 24/7 access for its crypto futures and options. 1-Ounce Gold has also moved to continuous trading, and the new 10-Barrel WTI contract is set to go 24/7 on August 30. Other contracts, like standard Gold, Micro Gold, standard WTI, and Micro WTI, still follow their normal schedules.

What this changes for traders is simple: weekend news, geopolitical events, and big moves in related markets no longer have to wait for the usual futures open. Even so, 24/7 does not mean nonstop trading with no breaks. There are maintenance windows, and weekend activity can also be handled differently for trade date and clearing.

I found this breakdown of the CME changes covering crypto, gold, and crude oil, along with the differences between contracts, maintenance periods, and practical things traders need to consider when they run platforms or automated strategies outside regular hours.

If you trade CME products, has the move toward longer or 24/7 access changed your routine? Are you using weekend trading, or do you still treat the regular session as the main one? Do you see 24/7 futures as a real benefit, or just more hours to keep up with?

[B&A] 8 Month Acne Journey

Top pic is 8 months ago. Bottom is now. I’m 31 and had been dealing with adult hormonal acne for a while. Mostly cheeks and jaw, but it wasn’t responding to anything. I also had constant redness/inflammation. This is the first time in YEARS where I don’t feel like I need foundation.

Here’s what worked for me (the lifestyle changes are probably the biggest drivers)…

Morning Routine:
- Rinse with water
- IS clinical Proheal Vitamin C serum (so expensive but unfortunatley I will keep purchasing because it’s good for acne and really brightened my skin)
- Vanicream daily moisturizer (I love this!)
- La Roche Posay Melt in Milk SPF 60 (I also love Round Lab’s birch juice SPF)

Evening Routine:
- Cleanse (I’ll use anything but currently using beauty bio The Balance cleanser)
- 3x week: VT Reedle Shot 100 (I like the glow it gives)
-1x week: Anua Azelaic acid (I like this for redness)
- Olay Regenerist
- Adipeau Volume Cream on top (I’ve had this for a few weeks.. too new to have an opinion on it yet)

Lifestyle Changes:
- Spironalactone 100mg (Probably 90% of the improvement was this)
- Red light mask 1-4 times a week (I think it really helps heal my post acne marks faster and gives me a more even tone)
- Broke up with my ex who was cheating on me (Probably underrated for how much it improved my stress)

… also if anyone has advice for chest redness please let me know!

Best VPS location for Forex trading: does one city really have the edge?

Ask ten Forex traders where the best VPS location is, and you’ll probably get ten different answers.

Some say London because many major brokers have systems there. Others pick New York. Some go with Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Tokyo, or Dublin, depending on the broker and the markets they trade.

So which one is right?

The more you look at it, the more it seems there isn’t a single answer. A trader using automated strategies with a broker in London may care about something completely different from someone trading manually through a broker based elsewhere. The “best” VPS location is not always the one closest to you. Most of the time, it’s the one that fits your setup best.

That’s why I’d rather hear from traders who have actually tried different locations instead of just repeating what they’ve read online.

Have you ever switched VPS locations and noticed a real difference?

What changed?
Was latency lower?
Did execution improve?
Was the platform more stable?
Or did it make little difference at all?

If you’re comfortable sharing, it would also be useful to know which broker you use and why you picked that VPS location in the first place. Real experience is usually more helpful than general advice, especially when you’re trying to figure out where to host your trading setup.

If you had to start your skincare routine from scratch today, what would you do differently?

I was looking through old photos the other day, and it hit me how overwhelming skincare felt when I first started.

Back then, I thought the answer was always to buy another product.

If something wasn’t working fast enough, I assumed I needed something stronger.

If my skin had a rough week, I’d convince myself my whole routine had stopped working.

Looking back, I spent a lot of time reacting instead of learning what I was actually dealing with.

I switched products too fast.

I bought things because they were trending.

I expected results after a few days.

And I probably spent more time reading reviews than paying attention to what my own skin was telling me.

The funny thing is, none of those mistakes were a total waste.

Every bad purchase, every disappointing routine, and every frustrating stretch taught me something I still use now.

If I had to start over, I don’t think I’d try to get everything perfect.

I’d slow down, pay attention to my own skin instead of comparing it to everyone else’s, and accept that skincare is a long-term habit, not a quick fix.

That’s easy to say now. It’s a lot harder to believe when you’re just starting out.

If you had to start your skincare routine from scratch today, what would you do differently?

Is a London VPS better than Amsterdam for trading?

When traders talk about VPS locations, London is usually the first city that comes up. Many brokers have servers in or near London, so it’s a common choice for Forex traders.

Amsterdam comes up often too, especially with traders who care about European routing, network quality, or want another solid option.

So the question is simple:

If you had to choose between a London VPS and an Amsterdam VPS, which would you pick?

I don’t think there’s one right answer. It depends on what you’re trading, where your broker’s servers are, and whether you’re using bots or placing trades yourself. What matters for one trader might not matter much for someone else.

If you’ve tried both, did you notice a difference in latency, execution, or stability? Or is the London vs. Amsterdam debate bigger than it needs to be?

[Sun Care] I need your WORST mineral sunscreen recs

Vanicream no longer makes my beloved HG sunscreen, and although their SPF 30 moisturizer carries her ghost, it's not the same.

I like a mineral sunscreen that feels like slugging and looks like 18th century stage makeup. I want a white cast. I want a heavy, goopy formula.

Diaper cream, on addition to not technically being spf rated, is a bit gritty and irritating for me. This is a bit of a princess and the pea situation: cicaplast alsp feels gritty to me lol. So super duper sensitive skin and I want to look like a wet corpse.

Best Trading VPS Providers in 2026

Picking a trading VPS isn’t as simple as choosing the cheapest plan or the one with the loudest marketing.

If you trade Forex, Futures, Crypto, Options, or run automated strategies, the right VPS depends on how you trade. A scalper with a lot of Expert Advisors may care most about low latency and CPU speed. A swing trader might care more about uptime, reliability, and easy remote access. Traders need different things, so it makes sense that they recommend different providers.

Over the last few years, a few names keep coming up in trading communities: TradingVPS.io, ForexVPS.net, Beeks Financial Cloud, CNS (Commercial Network Services), V2 Cloud, and some smaller providers too. Each one has different strengths, pricing, server locations, and the kind of trader it seems aimed at. There probably isn’t one “best” choice for everyone. It’s more useful to look at why traders pick one over another.

This thread is meant to collect real experiences from people who’ve actually used these services, not just comparison sites or polished reviews. If you’ve tried one or several, your take could help someone make a better call before putting their trading setup on a VPS.

If you share your experience, include:

  • Which VPS provider you’re using now
  • What you trade: Forex, Futures, Crypto, Stocks, Options, etc.
  • Whether you trade by hand or use automation like EAs, bots, or copy trading
  • What stood out most: performance, uptime, latency, support, pricing, or something else
  • If you’ve switched providers, what made you leave

There probably isn’t one VPS that works best for every trader, and that’s what makes this worth discussing. Different trading styles mean different priorities, and real-world experience is usually more useful than a feature list.

If someone new to trading found this thread six months from now, which VPS would you point them to, and why?

Has anyone gotten VPS latency below 50ms for forex trading?

Mine is stuck at 466ms and I'm missing entries constantly.

Tried switching VPS providers 3 times, no change. Location is Dubai, trying to connect to London and NY servers.

What actually worked for you guys to get it under 50ms?

Update: Got it fixed. Happy to share what worked if anyone's in the same situation.

What's one skincare myth that just refuses to disappear?

I’ll come across a skincare tip online and think, “Haven’t we moved past this?”

Some skincare myths just won’t go away. No matter how much new information comes out, they keep showing up in conversations.

A lot of the time, they get passed down in families. Other times, they spread on social media. Plenty of people repeat them so often that they start sounding true.

I don’t think people usually mean any harm. Most are just repeating advice they once believed themselves.

Still, it’s worth questioning the things we’ve accepted for years. Skincare changes, and not everything we were told is still right.

So I’m curious: what’s one skincare myth that just won’t die?

Did anyone else wake up feeling like they had rapidly aged at 32?

I've been looking through pictures of my face from only 2 months ago to today and I feel like I've aged so much since my birthday!

This is scary. I genuinely don't know how to cope with aging. I feel like I'm living in someone elses body!

I’ve been spiraling over what’s happened to my lower face (39 F)

A few years ago I gained and then lost about 10 lbs, and my lower face suddenly started sagging. What are my options?

Current routine:

AM: 20% vitamin C serum
Azaleic acid
Niacinamide
Moisturizer
SPF 50

PM: Tazarotene gel .05%

The thing I appreciate most isn't listed on the pricing page

Recently, I've heard TradingVPS.io discussed a few times, therefore I decided to share my impressions following a few weeks of use.

I was not searching for anything extravagant; for context. My primary goal was a steady environment free of ongoing setup considerations to operate my trading platforms.

The onboarding process was rather simple, and launching everything took less time than I had anticipated.

Not some spectacular performance enhancement struck me. It was really the other way around.

I stopped thinking about the VPS entirely after some time.

No random fixing.
None regularly confirming that everything was still operating.
So far, nothing surprising.

Honestly speaking, that's what I want in a VPS.

Since I'm still testing it long term, this is not a final judgment. However, my experience has been good enough that I believed it was worth discussing here.

Wondering if anyone else has utilized TradingVPS.io and what your experience has been.

Have you ever been close to giving up on your skin, then had something change?

I’ve been there. There was a time when it felt like I was doing everything right and getting nowhere.

I tried to stay consistent.
I read the advice.
I changed my routine.

Then I’d look in the mirror and wonder if any of it was doing anything.

That’s the frustrating part about skin. Progress is usually slow, so you don’t notice it until you look back and realize things are better than they were a few months ago.

I’ve always wondered how many people know that feeling.

The point where you’re ready to quit because nothing seems to work.

Then, out of nowhere, something clicks.

Maybe you changed one habit.
Maybe you cut your routine down.
Maybe you finally found something you could stick with.
Maybe you just gave it more time.

Whatever it was, someone else probably needs to hear that story.

So, have you ever been close to giving up on your skin, then had something change?

Has anyone else questioned whether backtests make us a little overconfident?

I used to think that if a strategy held up in backtesting, most of the work was already done.

Lately, I’m not so sure.

Backrests are clean. Everything runs the way it should. Live trading isn’t like that. Orders have to move through networks, talk to exchange APIs, and depend on your system staying up the whole time. It makes me wonder how often people change a decent strategy when the real problem is how the orders are handled, not the strategy itself.

I was reading a breakdown of how execution setup can affect algorithmic trading performance, and it made me realize I’ve spent a lot more time on strategy optimization than on what happens after an order leaves my platform:

I’m curious what other traders have seen.

Have you ever had a strategy that looked great in testing but fell apart once it went live?

If it did, what was actually causing the problem? The strategy, execution quality, market conditions, or something else?
