was thinking where it all went wrong for alia because jigra's assets never got trolled the way alpha is getting trolled for everything. then recalled this infamous interview where jammy pants screwed up royally with moderation. not only did he unknowingly dent alia's rep, but he also ruined his prospects of getting into dharma, like he was rumoured to, same as himeshmankad.
this guy tries so hard to be neutral, but the struggle is always visible, and its funny that since this nightmare of an interview, he didn't get many chances to interview any big celebs. in the process, he has been ruining credibility trying too hard to get back in the good graces of bollywood's inner circle and get viral moments even if it's through negativity, and it shows.
i talked about it during the show but now can we please see a little bit of crashout conrad in the movie? i'm counting on jerry, adam and maybe even steven to push a few buttons coz honestly a lot of things were left unresolved in the show. and maybe not too much, just enough for a small, entertaining spiral because that version of conrad is always interesting to watch 😅
Rewatching the show yet again, the way Conrad is treated is problematic as hell. Since childhood he's shown all the signs of someone struggling anxiety, panic attacks, withdrawal, self-destructive behavior, taking on far more than any teenager should (thanks to Adam and others). Yet everyone dismisses it as "classic Conrad."
What frustrates me most is the double standard. Conrad is expected to be the mature one, the caretaker, the bigger person, while everyone else gets a free pass to be selfish and emotional. If he speaks up, he's the problem. If he shuts down, he's the problem.
And Belly is far from innocent in that dynamic. She treats his depression, grief, and inability to communicate as personal attacks rather than signs that he's drowning. She lies to a dying Susannah in ways that make Conrad look like the villain, lashes out at him during his mother's funeral, moves on with his brother weeks after both their breakup and Susannah's death, and repeatedly acts shitty towards him even treating the so called love of her life like a worthless one night stand.
Then there's the entitlement toward Cousins of Belly and the other characters as well. Conrad fought harder than anyone to save that house, yet somehow he's the one made to feel unwelcome in his own home while everyone else acts like they have more claim to it than he does and literally bully him.
Conrad's biggest flaw isn't that he's cold-hearted or anything it's that he absorbs everyone's anger and rarely fights back. That's why people keep piling on him. The tragedy of his character is that nobody seems willing to listen until he's already at his breaking point, hell not even then.
he could be right he could be wrong that's not the case but a former contemporary saying this, the narrative building to discredit ranveer entirely is way too obvious. and what is wrong with this guy's hindi pronunciation
i appreciate that vicky is not only secure about doing multistarrers but also self aware about his limited ability to pull off solo lead projects unlike many of his delusional contemporaries that's why even the films he lobbies for through his pr are multistarrers or sequels. this film could be interesting if hirani has gotten his mojo back and aamir too
