The tank sat right above the minimum line for a few months (I got this car 5 months ago), I noticed yesterday it was substantially lower than it was when I checked last. I called VW and told them the pump/housing is under extended coverage (8 year/80k miles). I’m at 76k. When I called the dealership she said it’s just an expansion tank and that I can’t know the actual levels from looking at it which seems odd to me. Anyone deal with the same issue? Said it will be $200 service fee if nothing is found but it’s covered if the known faulty component failed.
