Healthcare in KENNESAW

Hi again, was just wondering if there were any entry level positions for healthcare in the Kennesaw area or near it? I’m attending KSU in the fall and I want to secure a job but I’m such newbie and literally like beginner level with my healthcare career. I’ve worked as a donor center technician and a medical screener, I’m currently a private duty caregiver, I’ve worked as a head counselor for a summer camp over the summer in 2023. I’ve worked for another caregiving company. I’ve worked as a dietary aide. I have some things under my belt but it’s not enough. What can I do ? Where can I start? I am transitioning out there from Michigan and want to make that my home. What places are guaranteed to hire right now or in August? What places are paying &$20/hr or more. Please help, I wish I knew everything but I don’t and want to learn and grow. Any assistance or advice is appreciated, thank you

Assistance w/ KSU PLEASEEE

Hey everyone! 🦉
I recently got accepted to KSU and I’ll be transferring from Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) in Michigan. I’ll be on the nursing path—not in the nursing program yet, but I’ll be completing my prereqs at KSU and then applying. I’m excited, but also trying to get everything figured out before moving down.
I’d love any advice from current students or nursing students or alumni !
A few questions:
• What are your best tips, tricks, or things you wish you knew before starting at KSU? (Clubs, financial aid, literally ANYTHING will help hahahaha)
• I’m currently on the housing waitlist for the Kennesaw campus. What are the odds of actually getting housing this late? What’s the housing situation like at KSU in general?
• If I don’t get campus housing, where should I start looking? My girlfriend is transferring too, and she’s also on the nursing path and applied for housing. We’d really like to stay together. We’re open to a studio, 1 bed/1 bath, or even a 2 bed/2 bath if it’s reasonably priced. We’re just looking for something affordable that will let us focus on school while building our lives in Georgia.
• Job recommendations? We’re both looking to work while in school. We’re especially interested in healthcare jobs such as but not limited to:
Private duty caregiving
CNA positions
Patient care technician (PCT)
Phlebotomy (especially places that provide paid training)
Plasma centers
Medical assistant positions
Any other healthcare jobs (and entry level tech jobs; honestly any job) paying around $20-21+/hour
If you know of hospitals, agencies, plasma centers, or companies hiring around KSU or nearby cities (Marietta, Acworth, Smyrna, Woodstock, Canton, Roswell, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Duluth, Norcross, etc.), I’d really appreciate it.
We’re planning to make Georgia our home for a while and want to build a solid foundation. I know everything won’t come together overnight, but we’re ready to put in the work and grow.
Any advice at all—housing, jobs, nursing, transportation, budgeting, campus life, or anything else—is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, and HOOTY HOO ! 🦉
