Your AI can use D2L now :) | Free Open Source

Hey folks,

Fellow student and AI Engineer here. Been using Agents to automate a bunch of my life for a while, including interacting with D2L. I built this free, open source tool that connects ANY agent to it. Your agent can then see ur grades, due dates, syllabus, lectures, all of it...

You can use any AI agent- Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, etc. If you don't use one currently, I recommend the $20 ChatGPT plan to install Codex. I think u can try it for free as well.

Oh, and it remembers stuff about your courses too! Like if ur professor prefers docx over PDFs, just tell ur agent!

The elephant in the room now. No, this can't "submit" your assignments for you, that's a deliberate design restriction I have in place.

Although you can do insane stuff like this + stuff I have in the project link:

  • "Read every lecture, review, past stuff the prof has posted, rank stuff by likelihood to be on the exam, and make me an html study guide"
  • "Compare my current grades to the course syllabus policies, find discrepancies then draft an email to the prof"
  • "Do I need to drop any class? Be thorough and investigative." (hopefully y'all don't need this one :)
  • "Every Sunday at 9PM give me a 'cooked report' to inform me how cooked am I based on my pending work"
  • "Triage all my pending assignments and help me build an action plan"

Not affiliated with KSU, D2L, or any company mentioned- just a free open project I made for myself and figured I'd share. Working with agents is what I do (look at my profile :)

GitHub Project: https://github.com/Aaryan-Kapoor/d2l-cli

Installation literally takes a single copy-paste to your agent- it can handle the rest by design. It never sees any of your personal stuff like passwords, you sign in like normal.

Thx, would appreciate a star!

absn question

tldr: worried about low gpa, but I have a decent prereq gpa and good teas score. am I cooked?

I'm applying for the ksu absn spring 27 program. I'm super nervous because gsu has been messing up my application so ksu may be the only school I apply to.

My undergrad gpa is a 3.1 and there's not much I can do to change that due to just having taken so many classes during undergrad. Getting A's in prereqs make a very small dent.

My prereq gpa is somewhere around a 3.6-3.8 depending on which science lab classes they use to calculate it. Got a 94 on the teas which I'm very happy about.

Looking for either reassurance or a slap to reality 😀 Should my gpa make me worry? If yes, what should I do other than take $$$ worth of classes to bring it up.

CHEM 1211/ENGR 1000 Inquiry

I’m an incoming aerospace engineering freshman trying to finalize my schedule. Because of a campus scheduling conflict, I’m considering taking either CHEM 1211 or ENGR 1000 online.

For anyone who’s taken either course online:
Would you recommend it? Did you feel like you learned as much as you would have in person? If you had to choose, which would you take online and why?

I’d prefer to keep both in person since they’re required for my major, so I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth rearranging my schedule instead. Thank you in advance 🙏🏽

Any low priced apartment communities that are actually worth the money?

Hey everyone, I’ve been looking around for apartments to split with my friend for roughly 700 before utilities. I know it’s difficult with how expensive most of them are, but I did see places like Greenhouse and 1800 have units within the budget.

I know most apartment complexes will have shitty reviews, especially in here, but can anyone give me some advice about what the best option would be? It doesn’t need to be perfect just not horrible.

Prof Meyers is one of the worst professors I’ve ever had. Nice guy but he takes forever to grade assignments or put grade averages in. His exams are beyond overcomplicated. The midterm grades are due today and he STILL hasn’t entered anything to see if people should withdraw from the class or not so they don’t end up failing. It’s annoying! Does anyone else have this problem?

Ksu Refund

I overpaid KSU and now have a balance of -$202, as of last week. Does anyone know when I’ll get that refund because I could really use it right now.

Healthcare in KENNESAW

Hi again, was just wondering if there were any entry level positions for healthcare in the Kennesaw area or near it? I’m attending KSU in the fall and I want to secure a job but I’m such newbie and literally like beginner level with my healthcare career. I’ve worked as a donor center technician and a medical screener, I’m currently a private duty caregiver, I’ve worked as a head counselor for a summer camp over the summer in 2023. I’ve worked for another caregiving company. I’ve worked as a dietary aide. I have some things under my belt but it’s not enough. What can I do ? Where can I start? I am transitioning out there from Michigan and want to make that my home. What places are guaranteed to hire right now or in August? What places are paying &$20/hr or more. Please help, I wish I knew everything but I don’t and want to learn and grow. Any assistance or advice is appreciated, thank you

Any recs for social meets?

Any recommendations for meeting other young adults in cobb county? I personally don’t really find the university crowd very outgoing/inviting plus I’m 23 which I agree isn’t much older but it still feels like quite the gap with most people I see daily.

I'm not a partier, but don't mind going out to the right bar or whatever to meet people.

Are there community events or local events through clubs/ restaurants/etc. that would give me a better chance at meeting people? Weekdays especially.

I am very active but the run groups, gym classes, etc. around are also not my age group either.. I would say I’m outgoing but just constantly not finding my kind of people even at my kind of places.

Obviously it’s the summer too so not a lot of younger people but I’ve been having trouble with this all year.

Anything helps, thanks!

Is Owl Express Down?

I had to wait for an override request before I could register for Fall, I finally got the approval today and went to register and it's like Owl Express doesn't exist anymore? I was just on the site a little over a week ago and it worked fine. The link from KSU website doesn't even work and says the link doesn't exist. Does anyone know what happened to it.

Assistance w/ KSU PLEASEEE

Hey everyone! 🦉
I recently got accepted to KSU and I’ll be transferring from Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) in Michigan. I’ll be on the nursing path—not in the nursing program yet, but I’ll be completing my prereqs at KSU and then applying. I’m excited, but also trying to get everything figured out before moving down.
I’d love any advice from current students or nursing students or alumni !
A few questions:
• What are your best tips, tricks, or things you wish you knew before starting at KSU? (Clubs, financial aid, literally ANYTHING will help hahahaha)
• I’m currently on the housing waitlist for the Kennesaw campus. What are the odds of actually getting housing this late? What’s the housing situation like at KSU in general?
• If I don’t get campus housing, where should I start looking? My girlfriend is transferring too, and she’s also on the nursing path and applied for housing. We’d really like to stay together. We’re open to a studio, 1 bed/1 bath, or even a 2 bed/2 bath if it’s reasonably priced. We’re just looking for something affordable that will let us focus on school while building our lives in Georgia.
• Job recommendations? We’re both looking to work while in school. We’re especially interested in healthcare jobs such as but not limited to:
Private duty caregiving
CNA positions
Patient care technician (PCT)
Phlebotomy (especially places that provide paid training)
Plasma centers
Medical assistant positions
Any other healthcare jobs (and entry level tech jobs; honestly any job) paying around $20-21+/hour
If you know of hospitals, agencies, plasma centers, or companies hiring around KSU or nearby cities (Marietta, Acworth, Smyrna, Woodstock, Canton, Roswell, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Duluth, Norcross, etc.), I’d really appreciate it.
We’re planning to make Georgia our home for a while and want to build a solid foundation. I know everything won’t come together overnight, but we’re ready to put in the work and grow.
Any advice at all—housing, jobs, nursing, transportation, budgeting, campus life, or anything else—is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, and HOOTY HOO ! 🦉

Online class/class announcements

Hi!
I am transferring from GSU (Perimeter). Typically my online courses are through iCollege and my in-person professors use iCollege for course work and announcements.
I saw KSU uses D2L for online courses (which I cannot access for some reason) …

My main question is;
is D2L where in-person teachers will post assignments and announcements, is it a different platform or do they strictly make announcements and give assignments in person?
