I just want to know I'm not alone out here lol.

I'm a Mechanical Engineering Sophomore working a full time retail job. (Edit: I take 2-3 classes per semester and I am enrolled during the summer, fall, and spring semesters.) I don't have the luxury of things like scholarships or loans due to a mixture of bad circumstances and bad decisions, so I work to support myself and put myself through school.

If you work full time, what do you do for work, and how do you do it while in school? (Edit: Do you work a 9-5 Monday through Friday, or is your schedule a little weird?)

I find myself having the needs of sleep, personal life, and school, while only being able to pick 2 at any time. This shit, is rough. But it's not permanent, that is a very good thing that keeps me going.

But please, tell me about your experience at KSU while working a full time job.

I’m considering dropping my World History (Prof Kristy Ventre) class. It’s an online, asynchronous class where the only study material we have is the textbook. There are no study guides, no lecture videos… absolutely nothing. Just your notes, and you better hope what you wrote is on the exam. We have about 8 weeks of the semester left and I have a 66% in the class. I have no idea of how to study for this class or what to even pay attention to on the damn near 20 page chapters of detailed information… and memorizing it all just seems impossible. Is it best to just go ahead and drop this class and try to get a different professor? I really tried to memorize the material and come up with my own lecture plan, but on top of my 3 other classes, I just don’t have the time. These professors literally get their Masters and Doctorates to do all of this… They make way more money than I do, and I have to work a full time job too. It just doesn’t seem feasible to try to be the professor while also trying to be the student in undergrad, and survive.

Is there class tomorrow for Columbus Day? (Pls say no)

Long story short, I have a profeesor who is extremely bad at communicating. He's very unorganized in general--ends class way after the actual class end time, shows up late, never responds to emails, does not follow the syllabus etc. The problem is, I need to speak to him regarding my major because coincidently enough, hes an advisor for my major :( I had a meeting with another advisor yesterday and she said to keep trying with emails, because if I could stay after class to speak to him I would, but I have work right after and it's a 30 minute drive from campus. I can meet with him during his offoice hours but to do that I need to schedule an appoinment THROUGH EMAIL. I'm at a loss... is there anyone higher up I can speak to? any advice helps

So far I have applied to over 350 internships, plenty of hirevues & rejections, completed four interviews, still waiting on a verdict from one-final found interview, and waiting to do an interview later this month with a big 4‘s consulting arm. Zero offer (yet).

Hey i was wondering if anyone who was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult has gotten SDS accommodations. I’ve been diagnosed for a couple years now, (before i even enrolled) and have wanted to go to SDS because school is tough as fuck for me any type of accommodations i could get would be nice, but every time i get so disheartened by the forms they want, and documents they need from my childhood to basically prove i’m not a faker.

Don’t really have many records from my childhood so it just seems like a pretty daunting task, i’d have to call around, find documents, fill out forms and paperwork, which all triggers my avoidance super hard. I feel like that’s to be expected with ADHD too, but I’m also avoidant to walk into SDS because it literally says on the door that step 1 is filling out your forms and stuff. So yeah i just wanted to see if anyone else with an adult diagnoses has actually done it and can tell me how the process was. Thank you.
