25M looking for friends

Hey everyone,

I’ve officially reached the point where I’m turning to Reddit to make some genuine friends.

I’m 25, based in Melbourne, and while I know plenty of people, I’ve realised that having acquaintances and having your people are two very different things. Between work, life, and everyone being busy, it can be surprisingly hard to build meaningful friendships as an adult.

A bit about me—I’m a huge foodie and love discovering new cafes, restaurants, hidden bars, and dessert spots around Melbourne. I’m also into mini golf, bowling, escape rooms, board game nights, walks around the city or along the beach, and pretty much anything that gets me out of the house. Recently I’ve been trying to live a healthier lifestyle too, so I’m always up for badminton, pickleball, casual hikes, or trying a new fitness class (as long as there's food afterwards 😄).

I also enjoy talking about bigger things—career goals, personal growth, travel plans, random late-night conversations, and just checking in on each other. I'd love to build friendships where we actually make plans instead of endlessly saying "we should catch up sometime."

Some things I'd love to do:

  • Try new cafes, restaurants, and hidden bars
  • Mini golf, bowling, escape rooms, or arcade nights
  • Board game nights
  • Walks around Southbank, St Kilda, Brighton, or the Yarra
  • Badminton, pickleball, or casual hikes
  • Weekend road trips or spontaneous adventures
  • Markets, festivals, and live events around Melbourne
  • Trying new activities we've never done before
  • Talking about life, goals, and keeping each other accountable

I'm looking for people around 20–30 who are genuinely interested in making new friends—not just exchanging a few messages before disappearing. Whether you're new to Melbourne or you've lived here forever, if you're looking for a solid group of people to hang out with, I'd love to hear from you.

If this sounds like your vibe, send me a message or leave a comment. Maybe this post ends up helping a few of us find our people. 🙂
