RUSSIA Lore
In this timeliness
Russia fell apart after losing the Great War to Germany. The defeat destroyed people's trust in the Tsar. Food became scarce, the army kept losing, and protests spread across the country. Before long, the Tsar's government collapsed, and different groups all claimed they should rule Russia.Things only got worse. Russia lost farmland and factories, prices skyrocketed, and famine spread across the country. Trains stopped running, businesses closed, and many towns were left to fend for themselves. The army also fell apart. Millions of soldiers came home with their weapons and refused to follow orders. Some joined the Reds, others fought for the Whites, while many formed local militias to protect their homes. With no government in control, generals, Cossack leaders, politicians, and warlords took over different parts of Russia. Everyone had a different idea of how the country should be rebuilt. The biggest fight was between the Reds, who wanted a communist Russia, and the Whites, who wanted to bring back the old government or build a new one. Other groups fought for democracy, independence, or simply to survive.Years later, the war is still going. Russia is split between many factions, and no one is strong enough to win.
Factions
Imperial Restoration Army (The Whites)
Ideology: Monarchist, Conservative
A coalition of former Imperial Army officers, nobles, and loyalists determined to restore order and the Russian monarchy. They have disciplined troops but struggle with political divisions over who should rule.
People's Revolutionary Front (The Reds)
Ideology: Communist, Marxist
A revolutionary movement of workers, soldiers, and peasants seeking to overthrow the old order and establish a socialist state. They are highly motivated and rely on political commissars to maintain unity.
Russian Republic (The Republic)
Ideology: Democratic Republican
The Russian Republic believes Russia doesn't need another Tsar or another revolution it needs a government chosen by its people. Made up of elected officials, volunteers, former soldiers, and everyday citizens, the Republic is trying to rebuild the country one town at a time. Wherever it gains control, it reopens schools, repairs railroads, restores local governments, and works to bring back a sense of normal life. Life inside the Republic isn't perfect. Politics move slowly, supplies are often short, and corruption is a constant problem. Still, many people see it as the best chance for a stable future. Its soldiers fight not just to win the war, but to prove that Russia can be united by laws instead of fear.
Siberian Directorate
Ideology: Regionalist, Authoritarian
A military-led government controlling much of Siberia. Rich in resources and protected by distance, it hopes to survive independently or eventually reunify Russia under its own leadership.
Free Cossack Host
Ideology: Traditionalist, Federalist
An alliance of Cossack hosts from the Don and Kuban regions. Fiercely independent, they defend their lands and traditions while resisting domination by any outside government.

Black Hundreds
Ideology: Ultranationalist, Monarchist
A collection of extremist militias devoted to defending "Holy Russia." They use terror and intimidation against political opponents and minorities they accuse of undermining the nation.
Anarchist Communes
Ideology: Anarchist
Independent communes that reject both the state and centralized authority. Organized around voluntary cooperation, they fight to preserve their freedom against all larger factions.
Far Eastern Republic
Ideology: Pragmatic Regionalist
A government established in Russia's Far East to protect local interests and maintain trade with Asia. It survives through diplomacy, foreign aid, and avoiding major battles whenever possible.
