Did anyone else underestimate how inconsistent international bank transfers can be?

One thing that’s surprised me after doing more overseas business is how different international wire transfers can feel depending on the banks involved.

Early on we kind of assumed a wire transfer was just a wire transfer. Same basic process every time. But after dealing with more suppliers and customers across different countries, the experience has been all over the place.

Some payments arrive surprisingly fast with almost no deductions and very clear tracking. Others seem to disappear for days somewhere between intermediary banks and eventually arrive missing part of the amount.

We’ve even had situations where two transfers sent around the same time behaved completely differently despite being similar amounts and both in USD.

One supplier gets the full payment.

Another receives less than expected because of deductions somewhere in transit.

Another asks us for proof because the funds still haven’t shown up after several business days.

At this point our finance team has basically stopped assuming every bank wire will behave predictably.

Honestly feels like the banking route itself matters way more than we originally thought.

M10 + X10 impressions after a few days

The M10 is a 1DD + 1BA hybrid IEM. To me it comes across as a clear, easygoing set rather than something trying to be extremely sharp or analytical. Bass has enough body, vocals are easy to follow, and the treble hasn’t felt harsh in longer sessions.

The X10 didn’t magically turn it into a totally different IEM, which is probably a good thing. What it did change was the practical side of the setup. I get proper 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs, physical controls, gain options, and enough headroom that I’m not pushing my phone or laptop volume as much.

I also like that it works as a small phone/laptop setup without needing a separate DAP. For desk listening or evening listening, it feels cleaner than using a random adapter, but still much simpler than carrying a bigger stack.

Things to know:

- The M10 is more comfortable daily listening than extreme technical flex.

- The X10 is useful if you care about outputs, gain, and control; less exciting if you already own a good dongle.

- The combo is still a cable stack, so it is not as clean as a DAP or wireless setup.

Overall, I’d call it a practical wired setup: easy to drive, easy to listen to, and more about balance/control than hype.

Disclosure: this combo was provided for impressions.

Best VPN for iPhone that’s actually worth paying for?

Just got my first iPhone(17Pro) after years on Android, and I'm trying to set up everything from scratch. On Android I just used a free VPN and never really thought about it much. This time I figured I'd actually pay for something decent and stick with it.

Spent way too long lurking here and reading recommendation threads. Honestly, I’m more confused now than when I started. Every VPN has people saying it’s the best, and then someone else says it’s slow, overpriced, or not worth it.

For now, I've narrowed it down to three:

Proton: Privacy reputation is great, Swiss-based. But not sure if it’s the best choice for speed and region switching on iPhone.

NordVPN: Probably the most recommended one here. Tons of servers, all the features you'd expect. My only hesitation is that the price after the first year may jump.

X VPN, Saw this one come up a few times. Looks like it has a decent number of iOS server locations and the iPhone app seems straightforward enough. But not sure how it holds up long-term.

My use case is browsing, Netflix, and connecting to hotel/cafe wifi.So what I care about is: stable connection, reasonable renewal price, and an app that doesn't kill my battery.

Anyone been on iPhone for a while and used any of these long-term? Or if there's another one I'm missing that's genuinely better on iOS, let me know.

spending 4 hours tuning stabs but too lazy to dust

i have no problem spending an entire night chasing one stupid rattle in the spacebar.

but cleaning the board? suddenly i’m unavailable.

it’s not even gross-gross. just desk dust, a cat hair here and there, random tiny fibers, whatever crumbs appeared from food i swear i did not eat near the keyboard. enough to notice under a desk lamp, not enough to make me want to pull every keycap again.

i’ve been keeping a vacuum on the desk for quick lazy passes. mostly dust and cat hair, nothing serious. it buys me time before the inevitable full teardown, but obviously it doesn’t replace actually pulling caps and cleaning the board properly.

curious what people here actually do between deep cleans. little brush? air duster? desk vac? or do you all just pretend not to see it until the board looks cursed?

RGTION consolidation after Rigetti's quantum news, What's the next move?

Hey everyone, checking out the RGTION chart on my BYDFI and wanted to gauge sentiment.

On the news front, the underlying stock (Rigetti Computing) recently reported massive Q1 revenue growth driven by their new 108-qubit quantum system, though high R&D costs are still weighing on the stock.

Technically, the post-earnings sell-off seems to have stabilized. We are seeing a long, flat consolidation with volume drying up completely. It looks like the market is waiting for the next catalyst.

Are you buying this dip for long-term quantum exposure, or expecting more sideways action?

Any free vpn for windows reliable to use?

Lately I have been traveling for work a fair bit, mostly hotel wifi situations, and sometimes I want to watch stuff that's not available in my region.

So I've been bouncing around between free VPNs on my Windows laptop for a while and figured I'd ask here if anyone has any better options.

Below are what I've tried so far:

Proton, everyone recommends it and I get why. Feels trustworthy. But the free server count is tiny and during evenings the speed tanks pretty hard. Also the free version doesn't let you pick a specific country, which is rough if you actually need to change location.

Windscribe, the data cap is the main issue. if you're not paying attention, you'll burn through it in a day. decent app otherwise.

X-VPN, the windows free version has unlimited data and no ads which surprised me. Small downside is that the connection sometimes takes a moment to establish, but once it's on it's been solid.

So right now I'm rotating between Proton and X-VPN. Anything else worth trying that works well on Windows? Most threads here focus on mobile so it's hard to find good desktop recs.

Earned this in 5 days!

So basically, I got this app installed 4-5 days ago, and this task came in today, just a 10-20 minute task and it paid ₹287 for just 10-20 mins of your time.

DM to know how and which app!

Thanks!
