Artistic, crafty, creative opportunities

Artistic, crafty, creative opportunities

My wife currently works in tech and has wanted to switch industries for some time now.

We are currently 8 weeks pregnant, and once she gives birth and finishes her maternity leave, she is thinking it would be a good time to try something new.

She has always been a creative person who enjoys working with her hands, and she is the type who has tons of arts and crafts in her home office.

Unfortunately, I feel like the corporate world has stifled her ambitions.

All that said, is there anyone out there currently working in a creative position? Are there any opportunities in Fort Lauderdale for this type of work? She’s also open to taking online courses or even pursuing a degree in graphic design.

I think she would like to find something like this Creative Artworker position from Meri Meri (https://merimeri.com/pages/careers#shopify-section-template--18862288830550\_\_9dafe4e0-f28a-40cd-9952-cd8e6a58a178)

Any help is appreciated! I’d love to learn more about the art scene and see if I can help steer my wife in the right direction.

Thanks!

Best public schools in Fort Lauderdale (new parent)

Hello 👋

A couple of weeks back, I made a post regarding the best daycares in the area and got some really good responses: https://www.reddit.com/r/fortlauderdale/s/JGLsXBxtbh

Now, thinking more long-term, I am curious about what the school situation is like in Fort Lauderdale. I know that great schools exist in areas like Cooper City, Weston, and Parkland, but these are pretty far from me, as I live in Fort Lauderdale (30+ minutes).

My wife and I feel like we only have private school options around here, like Calvary, PineCrest, and Westminster. I do know about the StepUp scholarship, which is awesome, but I don’t want to depend on it if I am not given it.

So, what are the best elementary, middle, and high school options for students in the area? Preferably, public schooling options. If private schools are the only route, then so be it, but I want to hear from parents in the area.

I’m willing to be flexible, so throw all options my way.

Thanks!

Best daycares in the area

My wife and I are recently pregnant and are very excited about what lies ahead!

I’ve been doing a lot of research on daycares and wanted to see if anyone had any good recommendations for a great daycare.

My wife and I live below our means, and I plan to invest in a great, safe daycare for peace of mind.

The Baer Learning Center at the JCC looks great, and I have also seen some others like Blooming Minds Academy.

I really appreciate any help you can provide. I’m looking to learn as much as I can as a future, new Dad 😃
