Hello I know this is a long shot but does anyone know where I could find a temporary foster for my baby? Shes 6, very well behaved, and very lovable. I know Thats said about everyone’s dog but I swear to god she is! Everyone that meets her says she is literally the best dog in the world. I just got informed I have less than 24 hours to find somewhere for her to go. I am grasping at straws here. My mental health is slowly getting worse and worse. I have been trying to find a place for her all week but now the disgusting vile woman (who owns a bogus dog rescue by the way) is only doing this because she has something against me and I swear on everything I love I have done nothing to her! Please if anyone has any ideas I would be so grateful. Thank you 🙏🏼

TYIA! Visiting in March for our 5yr wedding anni. Will also be our first vacation as a trio with our 3yo. Already searched the subreddit, yelp and google reviews, and have narrowed down resort options thanks to those.

I like Lago Mar’s charm and it being family friendly and unpretentious. Unfortunately, I am diagnosed OCD, and my biggest trigger is safety for my child (like sanitation/cleanliness/germs, exposure to his food allergies, etc). Pretty rough as a toddler parent, but my therapist is happy with my progress and I’m medicated. BUT, I worry that I won’t be able to look past how dated and cleanly our room may be, based on some of the poor online reviews. Am I overthinking it?

We are lucky to not have a strict budget, so Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, and Conrad are also a consideration. Obviously very different from Lago Mar, but these options would feel more “special” for our wedding anni. I just worry about annoying anyone if our cheeky toddler is being, well, cheeky. And we’d like to avoid loud partying because of his sleep schedule.

We also would like to prioritize safe and easy beach access. Our main priority since I’m from a beach area and it will be our toddler’s first time at the beach.

Recently started a new job in which I am required to go into their downtown office several times a month. The building's own parking is $28/day or $150 for a monthly pass. Does anyone know of any garages nearby that are more reasonably priced yet still safe?

For starters I’m moving from Chicago and have only taken the Brightline from Fort Lauderdale to Miami. Obviously their monthly pass isn’t feasible for most so I’m curious if anyone here has experience taking the Tri-rail to Miami frequently with their monthly pass?

How long would it take? I’m in Flagler village if that helps and my job offer is in Brickell (I’ll turn it down if not feasible). I’m assuming I’d need to transfer to the metro rail at some point?

How safe is the Tri Rail and is there security that patrols the trains? I’m used to seeing everything in the book during my commutes on the CTA in Chicago so I’m assuming it’s not that bad but I’d prefer to avoid the crazies. I know driving won’t be an option either.

Anyone in the downtown Ft Lauderdale feel and hear what sounded like a large but short live explosion around 12:15 PM on 8/19/26? I’m on the 18th floor of a large building on the river and felt the floor under me shake for a fraction of a second after the loud bang. Weird.

Hello everyone, have been looking into apartments in Sailboat Bend and just wanted to see what everyone thinks of living there. Is it worth it to live in this community to be close to the beach and las olas blvd. My budget fits perfectly for every apartment renting in sailboat bend. If anyone can let me know how safe/dangerous the community is and anything else useful.

I'm tired of all the produce no matter where you go being from one specific company and looked into alternative options. Was very excited to find out about CSAs and looked through Localharvest but it seemed like the only option near fort Lauderdale was a buying club that I'm not entirely sure about it actually being local produce. All the other farms nearby seemed to have shut down or no longer offer CSAs. Anyone have any experience with that?

Happy to say I got a new job! I’m also looking forward to the time I have off in between jobs.

My last day is Friday 8/21 and I start Monday 8/31. I don’t want to do much on that last weekend leading up to the new job so I can rest.

I (25F) just moved to Coral Springs (right outside Ft Laud) about two months ago due to my husband’s (30M) job. Originally from Indiana so very big move for us. I have been job hunting with no luck or potential. We don’t know anyone or have any local friends, just my in-laws who live in Deerfield Beach. Any tips on how get involved as someone new to the area and bad at socializing? Whether it’s in Coral Springs or surrounding areas like Pompano, Ft Laud, Boca etc., happy for any recommendations. I am feeling very out of touch and just want to try and make this place feel more at home.

I know this is a long shot. We recently moved to Fort Lauderdale and my wife used to be part of a knitting group in France and she made a few good friends this way and it was great for her to socialize.

Honestly, the knitting was more of a bonus, what she enjoyed was talking with the other women. She is actually 29yo but enjoyed the older crowd and all the stories!

Please help me help her and tell me if you know of any such group, even informal, or slightly different from knitting.
