Things to do in Ft Lauderdale?

My husband and I are going to Fort Lauderdale for the first time for my birthday in early November. We will be there Saturday morning-Tuesday afternoon and staying at the W. What are some fun things to do and good restaurants to go to? We are in our 30z and like good cocktails, food and exploring but aren’t there very long and also want some good pool time. The only things we have planned so far is going to the Lions vs Dolphins game on Sunday and a food tour. We are considering a boat cruise of some sort but not sure if taking the hop on/hop off taxi will fulfill that void or if we should do a booze cruise.

Minor BNP elevation causes?

I had a full cardiac workup done in May for a mystery illness causing heart palpitations/SVT with EKG changes and chest pain. Echo, cardiac MRI, coronary CTA all negative for anything acute. Had a CT PE in May for an elevated d dimer which was also negative My BNP in May was less than 10. I have been on metoprolol ever since and have been stable on 50 mg daily, when I was previously needing 100 mg earlier this summer. I also have new onset dysautonomia that I occasionally take ivabridine for I started experiencing some mild consistent chest pain again and had two episodes of a resting pulse ox of 92% this past weekend. I told my cardiologist and asked if a repeat echo is warranted. He said a BNP would rule out HF so I got one drawn and it came back at 20, when it was <10 in May. He said not to worry since >50 is concerning and this is likely another cause. The uptrend makes me nervous. Is there any other conditions that can cause an elevated BNP in an otherwise healthy young 38 year old female? I’m just scared especially since we never figured out the root cause of my cardiac palpitations and I never know when to go to the ER since i did have some chest pain earlier in my course

PACs and ST abnormalities?

Asking a provider: 38 year old female with a history of Hyperlipidemia. Was perfectly healthy until this may where I had unexplained heart palpitations with runs of PVCs, PACs and SVT due to unknown cause. Never a trip elevation. echo, coronary CTA and cardiac MRI all normal. Labs all normal. Million dollar workup and can’t figure out why this happened. I continue to get non-descriptive, dull chest pain. I started weaning down my metop this week because my resting HR improved so much that it was in the 40’s. I did this EKG yesterday on my Kardia. Are there PACs or ST abnormalities here?

Lyme disease testing

I was wondering if anyone has advice or insight into IgenX Or Accudart testing for Lyme disease confections? I’m a clinical pharmacist and very well versed in Lyme disease testing and treatment. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with Lyme disease on two step testing back in June following unexplained heart palpitations with EKG changes and new onset dermatographia. I also know that two step testing is notoriously tricky with false negatives and positives. I asked for three weeks of oral doxycycline although I could have qualified for IV therapy since I had disseminated Lyme carditis. I have been on cardiac medications for three months, and started to feel better, with my dermaograohia going away finally and my beta blocker requirements being down. I had a million dollar cardiac workup (echo, MRI, CT PE) all negative. Head and neck MRI and EMG tests all negative, autoimmune work up negative ..and now I am starting to have new onset vision changes and feeling off balance. I meet with a Lyme literate ID doc finally next week, but want to be prepared. I’m worried my Lyme may have not been appropriately treated since it was disseminated and am wondering if any of these other tests are legitimate and fairly accurate for co infections? I live in Michigan and have a dog, ticks are rampant this year.

Service and parts warranty

Have a question on the 2 year service and parts warranty. I have a 2017 Ford escape that I have had Tons of issues with. In June of 2025, I took it to a ford dealership and had an oil leak diagnosed—turns out it was coming from the Turbo charger, which had to be replaced on top of hoses and the crank case breather and I spent 4300.00 (this came after I was right out of the 3 year warranty window after having my entire engine replaced in 2022).

Well now I have an oil leak again. Took it to the Ford dealer closer to my home where I paid to have it diagnosed and they said that the leak is coming from the throttle body, vacuum pump and turbo/CAC tube. The dealership said they would acknowledge the warranty from the other place if I had already paid for it to be replaced last year. But it seems that all of these parts are different than the ones replaced last year.

I’m livid. Should I go to the dealer I went to last year and ask them to fix it and will any of this be covered under their 2 year warranty since it’s different parts? I almost done trust them. Is this even worth my time? Or should I take it to the place closer to home and just pay full price for labor and parts.

Reselling tickets?

I bought four tickets for Ed’s concert in Detroit on August 29. I had no idea he didn’t allow reselling of his tickets until recently when I looked on the Ticketmaster app and saw that I couldn’t resell them. I need to sell two of them because our friends can’t go anymore and we haven’t found anyone else that can. I was reading the Loop tour facts and questions sheet on his website and saw that they will allow tickets to be listed to be resold 14 days prior to the show. But I’m reading other threads on here that that isn’t a thing and people haven’t been able to sell them. Any advice on how I can resell these?

AppleCare+ and new phone

have an iPhone 12 Pro that’s still working but I will need a new phone soon since it’s slowing down. I have paid for AppleCare plus monthly ever since I got the phone in 2021. If my phone breaks or if I break the phone, will Apple just give me a refurbished phone? And what model do they give since mine is so old?

Is this EKG Concerning

Taken on my Kardia. I was a healthy 38 year old female until I had sudden onset palpitations and found to have new onset ST depressions and PVCs/PACs and some SVT episodes after that on a holter monitor. Now I’m on metoprolol and ivabridine for dysautonomia. Echo and cardiac MRI and CCTA all negative

LLD who will prescribe IgeneX?

I live in Michigan and I’m just looking for a physician or telehealth doc who will prescribe me an IGeneX test? I have had a mystery illness with new onset heart palpitations diagnosed about two months ago and my Lyme antibody test came back for three IGM antibodies indicating possible early infection, but I know the two stop testing is garbage, and I also have had mono many times before. I’ve been on three weeks of doxycycline. I just want to know if I actually had Lyme disease or a coinfecfion or not because nothing else has explained my illness and neither my PCP or infectious disease position will prescribe IgeneX for me.

Holter monitor results and palpitation advice

Back story: I’m an otherwise healthy young female (I work in emergency medicine) who experienced sudden heart palpitations one night with severe nausea 5 weeks prior—these have been ongoing since and are somewhat controlled with metoprolol succ 100 mg. The palps started three days after my third injection of a low dose GLP1, which was a new start med for me. After my 2nd injection, I started getting bad dermatographia, also new. The palpitations got so bad I went to the ER twice. First time-was tachy in 90s at rest, no EKG changes, D dimer elevated, CT PE negative. HS trop negative x 2. Was discharged home. Second visit-My EKG showed T wave inversions/PVCs, my HR was 122-150 standing. I was admitted for a full cardiac workup. CCTA was negative, echo was normal. all other labs and vitals normal. No trop elevation x 2 again: Cards and medicine blamed these palpitations on possible Kounis syndrome secondary to an allergic reaction from the med given my rash. Discharged me on metoprolol and sent me home with close allergy/cards/medicine follow up while the GLP1 wears off given its half life of 7 days. Well I’m 5 weeks out from that last injection and am still miserable. Despite optimal antihistamines and metoprolol dosing, I still am having dysautonomia-HR jumps to 120 on these high doses of metop while standing, occasional chest pain, occasional numbness and tingling. I’ve had a stroke workup, an autoimmune panel (pending), head MRI negative, all labs normal. I’m scared to walk or do anything. All labs are normal. I asked for a 7 day holter monitor (I was tapering off steroids at that time) and these are the results. My cardiologist isn’t concerned, but I am concerned this will be my life now and I have no idea what’s causing it. Especially the SVT runs—I’m not even exerting myself, not drinking caffeine, no alcohol. Cardiac MRI has been ordered for next week to rule out myocarditis. I guess I’m just asking for a second opinion on what I should do or advocate for next if no myocarditis on cardiac MRI? I can’t “wait this out” forever since it’s impacting my life. I can’t even work at my high stress job right now—I’m on medical leave because anytime I stand I get tachy at 110-120. Cardiologist and neurologist don’t seem to want to work up POTS at all right now, and also there isn’t really good treatment for that anyways. Carvedilol trial also didn’t work —it may have helped my PVCs but my tachycardia was awful and I had to go back to metoprolol. Any thoughts or advice? Is this a coincidental virus-induced POTS syndrome? I never felt sick the last few months. When would ablation be considered? I have never had a cardiac history but my family does. I am scared and frustrated and don’t know how I can live my life forever scared to walk even on high dose beta blockers. I was a huge athletebefore this and love to hike, bike, jog, everything. And just standing sustains my HR at 100-110.

Looking for the best shampoo and conditioner product for someone with fine colored treated hair who also has weft extensions. I have extremely fine, thin hair and have suffered from hair loss for 13 years. I also have had high quality, salon grade colored weft extensions for those 13 years. I have used all of the high-end salon products under the sun, heat protectants, and limiting heat styling and only washing my hair in cold water to promote growth and limit color sessions. My extensions don’t dry out, but the color always fades, which is expensive and frustrating to recolor. I also use ketoconazole shampoo on my crown and scalp only after my dermatologist recommended it for adronergic alopecia (I never wash my extensions with this). Does anyone have recommendations for a good shampoo and conditioner or hair mask that may promote hair growth but also be moisturizing enough for hair extensions? I’ve been using RedKen color magnetics on my hair since 2019, I also use a clarifying shampoo on my scalp once a week, and IGK leave in conditioner post shower + an Olaplex thermal protectant.

Are there any non profit remote jobs that exist out there that aren’t MTM? I highly doubt it from what I have seen, but I’m a clinical critical care/ED pharmacist with 7 years of experience, and am pursuing the PSLF route, but I am beyond burnt out. Was just wondering if anyone has found a unicorn like this.
