I was on my way home from a camping trip this morning and the water pump went out on me. Thankfully, I got friends to come to the rescue.

So I took over my wife's 2009 escape hybrid since she got a new Subaru.

She had complained to me about almost getting hit when turning into traffic or trying to accelerate.

I drove it and found out the Hybrid battery system was shutting down and overheating. I tested with OBD and the codes P0A81 and P0A96 came up meaning the cooling fans were not working causing the system to shut down. I ordered the fans from BattMech.com which was the best price and a new filter for the system from ebay. replaced them and the power inrease is astonishing plus I noticed that before it averaged 21.5 mpg and now it averages 30 mpg so the fans already paid for themseves. BTW 236,000 miles and still going strong just always use Full Synthetic oil and do regular maintenance.

Decided to let go of my 145K mile 2009 Ford Escape limited V6 after 9 years of ownership. Was contemplating the past few months whether to keep it with the ongoing constant repairs or go with a new car. In the past year I replaced a leaking transfer case, fuel pump, alternator, tie rods, fuel injector, lift gate actuator, and battery to fix loss of power steering. The upcoming costs I saw coming were new tires, brake job, possibly 5 other fuel injectors since I had to replace one already, rust repair(wheel well, trunk, underside), exhaust/pipe welding, and water pump. That would be around 10K more or less of costs, so would rather put that in another vehicle. My top 4 choices for a replacement was a Mazda cx9, cx50, Lincoln Corsair, and a Ford edge st. Went with a Corsair and traded in the escape, I probably could've gotten more selling it but dealership only gave me a grand, I was expecting at least 2 based on the KBB value, but took it as is, didn't want to deal with the selling process. I've had the Corsair for a day so far and I like it, only things I don't like is there not being a lot of DIY repairs on YouTube yet, and how small the storage inside is. The vehicle is half a foot longer than the escape on the outside but the storage spaces are small on the inside. I could store my backpack contents in the center console on the escape but now just about a pencil case in the corsair. In the trunk area I used to put coolant, wrenches, and tools under the floor board in the escape, that wont be the case now. My solution now will be getting a trunk organizer and putting it all there. Anyway, hoping I can get 9 years out of it like I did the escape, but will sure miss having the escape.

Recent floods have been tearing my splash shield clamps out on my 2017 escape. Does anyone know where to find OEM clamps like in the photos?

2021 Ford Escape Recall Sync Screen Update Tech from dealership came out to my residence to do this recall took about 30mn after he left I went to move my car into my garage as I was doing this 4 warning lights came on 1. wrench light on with message See Manuel 2. Check Engine light with message Powertrain Malfunction 3. Blind Spot Detection Alert 4. Powertrain Malfunction car now in "Limp Mode" and then I tried to put in Reverse and it won't go into Reverse I was told that what happens in Limp Mode I called the dealership and they said that the update has no connection to what my car is doing now WHAT? i complained to the Maint. Supervisor and he sent the Tech who did the Update back out to my home and re did the update and explained what he did step by step and also said this has no connection to me having these Warnings on my dash and the dealership called back and told me to Tow it to the dealership to have a diagnosis done but the Tow would be on me not them, so I called Ford Customer Service and filed a complaint so next day dealership called me and agreed to pay for the Tow to the dealership and later the Tow picked it up and yesterday the Dealership called and again said the Sync Recall Update has no connection to my warning lights I didn't have any issues or problems with my Escape None it has been maintained and never got a warning lights but right after your Tech does an update to my computer I have 4 warning lights Transmission Sensor problem a camera detection problem Car has had no leaks transmission no shifting issues or car shaking rattling and no camera issues on i have the Ford Connect App no warnings showed up on that until the dealership had the car I could still do a remote start see that my tire pressure is ok my fuel so on late friday a voicemail from dealership from the asst mgr service who says Sorry about not getting back to me sooner "this got dumped into my lap last minute" i they are working on it but the Teansmission Sensor is out off warranty i have 62,009 miles warranty up to 60,000 miles so estimate so far is appx 2,000 and Ford has agreed to pay 700.00 of that bill and including the tow but no rental or loaner after i asked for that . my question is I think the update had a lot to do with this and the Tech did it wrong he came out the same day after i called to do it again I looked at what need to be done and if any steps done incorrectly can result in my issues so it is connected they are still investigating it it's the PCM and all their Recall Updates upon Updates

It has the 2.5 engine and 77k miles on it!

Hi I just bought the escape as my first car and just want to make it look nicer and more technological, I’ve already thought on getting a flip key fob and CarPlay.
Any other things you guys think I should get? Maybe new wheels or maybe get it lowered a bit idk open to suggestions and to what you guys did in your own cars

I inherited this as a gift from a relative, anything I should know in advance. Had a 2004 with no a/c before this, its fully loaded. its a blessing but I hear horror stories any advice on care would be great. Had it for a week and its pretty sweet with all the tech it has on it and its also pretty quick. Fun car overall....
