What’s a reasonable quote for a water pump and timing chain kit replacement?
2017 Explorer PIU 3.5L V6 engine. Coolant leaking out the water pump and this has been the 3rd replacement in 3 years. Mechanic says that the timing chain set is likely what’s messing it up and to replace this as well. Was quoted 6k to do the full job. Is this reasonable? $2300 of it was for the timing kit alone.
If I were to try to sell the car as is, without the repair, what’s a reasonable price listing? Can’t get an online estimate due to it being a police car.
