Should the ICC make World Cup stars on national team crests mandatory? And what about alternate jerseys?

Football has a long-standing tradition where World Cup winners wear stars above their crest to represent each title. It instantly tells the story of a team's history and achievements. Cricket, however, has never really adopted that tradition consistently.

Do you think the ICC should mandate that every Cricket World Cup winner display stars on their crest? For example:

• ⭐ Australia – 6
• ⭐⭐ India – 2
• ⭐⭐ West Indies – 2
• ⭐ Pakistan – 1
• ⭐ Sri Lanka – 1
• ⭐ England – 1

Or should they also add World T20 wins to this?

Also, should alternate (away) jerseys be compulsory at ICC events?

Personally, I think both would add a lot to the tournament:

• Stars create a visible sense of legacy and prestige.
• Alternate kits reduce colour clashes and make matches feel more unique.
• It would also make Cricket World Cups feel more in line with other global sporting events.

Curious to hear everyone's thoughts.

Well, as a fan; the new format for cricket is an absolute disgrace. It's just BCCI and Indian broadcasters trying to mint more money by fixing more than 1 India-Pakistan or India-Australia clashes. Cricket World Cup is going to lose more credibility due to this, and maybe this might be the last of them before we see T20 World Cups, with lowest viewership out of the subcontinent, becoming the ultimate prize of cricket. However something which intrigued me in the format was the Super Series, and I've always thought of this as something which could fix the 50-over Cricket World Cup, if used efficiently.

Here is my proposed 'DREAM FORMAT' for the (50-over) ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, which requires no Qualifiers, and is based totally on ODI rankings.

-> All 20 ODI playing nations qualify, such that:
• Top 14 teams qualify directly into the Group Stage
• Rank 15th to Rank 20th play the Play-In/Super Series

-> Play-In would look like: G1: R15* R17 R19; G2: R16* R18 R20
• Top team(*) from each Group of the Play-In qualify for the Group Stage

-> Group Stage:
• 14(Qualified)+2(Play-In)=16 teams, divided into 4 groups of 4 each.
• Top 2 from each Group qualify for the Super 8

-> Super 8:
• Similar to the Champions Trophy
• 2 groups of 4 each
• Top 2 teams of each group qualify for the Semi Finals

-> Knockouts: SFs and F

This would help in not only making Cricket World Cup, arguably Cricket's oldest and biggest stage, accessible to all playing nations, but would also decrease ICCs burden on conducting unnecessary Qualifier tournaments no one pays attention to. Also, it would protect the competitiveness of the tournament, which ICC has been using to cover their money printing; as each Stage is competitive. Each group stage is of 4 teams each, making each match a must win. What do you say? Open to all sorts of opinions.

PS: The Group Stage and Play-Ins must be played simultaneously. Sounds absurd but for the first few days, 2 matches per day (1 of Group Stage and 1 of Play-In) could be done. As soon as Play-In is over, the Group Stage continues with the newly joined teams.
