Returning to Oregon after living in Georgia

I lived in Oregon for about 14 years before moving to Georgia a few years ago to reconnect with my mom. Long story short but I hate it here. I don’t like the weather, I don’t fit in well with the culture, and I miss my other family and friends.

I’m trying to figure out the order of how I should do things. I know I need to save a lot first but that’s as far as I am. Should I find a job or an apartment first? How do I get a job from the other side of the country?

And finally, am I being an idiot trying to do this? Honestly, cost wise, Im scared I won’t make enough to survive. But I’m just so miserable here in Georgia and Oregon is home to me. I’d be grateful for any and all advice.

Got an apartment and I’m stressing with my budget.

I live in Georgia. While it’s not the most expensive, the cost of living is high just like everywhere else. After all my bills, I’m left with $820 a month to spend on groceries and anything else. I genuinely feel like it’s not enough for myself and 2 dogs. I haven’t signed the lease yet and I don’t know what to do.

It’s seems like it’s going to be really tight. I also get a school refund check every few months but I can’t really list that amount because it’s subject to change. Every 3 months I should get about 3k back (I think). I’m trying to keep my school refunds strictly for savings.

Anyways, I don’t know if I’m insane trying to do this. I’m looking at getting a part time job, but that’s reduce my health insurance tax credit. I don’t know if I should use my school funding to help fill in gaps (a lot of people do while they’re in school). Am I just bad with money? Any kind advice is welcomed.
