Steam Deck or Other? AOEII?

I am not much of a gamer, and I do not have a personal PC , but I really want to play some late 90s early 2000s games, such as age of empires II, command & conquer, sim city, etc.

I want to be able to play on the couch and in bed - so I am not going to bother buying a PC. This is for trying to decompress in the evening.

I am aware of the Steam Deck shortage, but note that they are available from third party vendors for twice the price. I may just bite the bullet.

  1. Should I proceed with overpaying for a steam deck, or go with another handheld? My concern with going with another handheld is that it may be not as user friendly to download steam, games, etc.

  2. Can you play AOEII on the steam deck? other handhelds? I saw that AOE II Definitive Edition is the current version -- but is it supported/playable?

Thank you!

I do not have instagram, and i barely use factbook, but I have noticed that the Jeff Rosenstock Facebook account has been posting A LOT more since a handful of weeks ago. The posts often go beyond show announcements as well. It is great, but a noticeable uptick.

I am not sure whether this is because he is trying to generate a bit more presence for a forthcoming new album announcement (especially in light of prior indications a new album is in the works), or doing the same for purpose of the recent show promotions.

Or perhaps he just hired someone to run his social media.

Also interesting because his email mailing list has repeatedly indicated he hopes to one day get off social media.

I made note of it, so figured i would post. Hopefully it means even more exciting news in the future!

My fiancé and I are visiting for the first time in a handful of years, just for 3 nights, and we are thinking the following line up for food. Thoughts?

Sunday - The Ordinary

Monday - Vern's (reservation acquired)

Tuesday - FIG

Should we switch out any of these? Are High Cotton and Magnolia's too touristy?

Also, I would love some lunch recommendations. We had a wonderful time at 167 Sushi last time we visited (awesome sushi, cooked food, sake and bar tender), so we will definitely go there, but not sure if there are any "must try" lunch spots.

Thank you!
