New house, Can anyone tell me anything about this system?
Unfortunately I’ve owned this house for 5 months and just discovered this system. Took me hours to figure out it was a water softener because I thought it was somehow part of the water heater... I get a feeling I’m going to get a lot of comments along the lines of “how did you not know” “how have you gone 5 months not checking what this was” and let me tell you I fully accept that I’m dumb rn and you don’t have to tell me😩
All I know about water softeners is that my old landlord had to be let in monthly to add salt to it. Can anyone tell me anything about this system I have? According to google not every system needs salt so I don’t even know if that is what I need to do right now.
Side note, if anyone can tell by my photo of the tub/tank if anything is critically wrong right now that I need to address immediately? Thank you to all in advance for the time you’re taking out of your day to help me.
