CSC 2026 annual statements delayed until end of October

Maybe I’m missing something, but an annual statement is just a summary of the database entries for a member and simple calculation of a few payroll numbers that were set in stone on 30 June.

Why does it take until October to generate and email members a PDF file? (Acknowledging paper version would take a bit longer).

Hotel website vs. reality

This is probably just a whinge, but I’m curious. To what extent must a hotel’s advertised room offering (photos and descriptions on the website) match reality — within reason?

For example: the site offers a king bed room of Xm2 with amenities such as en-suite, desk, TV, safe, etc. where photos show a modern, clean, spacious, well appointed room.

Customer decides to book and pay the offered non-refundable price in advance (contract). Contextually, due to an event other hotels subsequently book-out and by the time of the stay, there is no longer an option to go elsewhere.

But after check-in, the room is found to be very, very different to its description and photos. The room is old, dirty (literal mould and tiny flies infested), old worn carpet, a tiny window compared with the photos showing expansive glass, and a desk that would not even suit a 1950s primary school child instead of the large modern glass desk in the photos. The list goes on.

TLDR: is the bed the only obligatory thing to provide, and everything else is flavour?

If one single refitted room exists in the hotel can they take photos of that room because it’s technically ‘available’ even if there’s a 99% chance of being accommodated in one of the other 350 rooms which haven’t been updated.
