If you’re a student at Stuyvesant who’s in the Math Team and/ or took the Placement Test, I have a few questions

so im and incoming student for Stuyvesant and Camp Stuy is coming close. I plan on getting into the Math Team and scoring high on the Placement test to get into an advanced math course. Since I know there are definitely plenty of intelligent students at Stuyvesant, I was hoping some of you could offer me some aid or advice for the test. Help in studying, what to expect and review would make me very grateful, but any aid will help. To give my credentials to back up why I’m high in expectations for the testing, I am taking the Algebra 1 Regents (scoring 100‘s on all the tests available) and took Khan Academy to master Geometry (took a few regents and also got 100’s). Moreover, I do AMC 8 and score decently well. Disclaimer that I’m not trying to brag AT ALL and I know others are probably so much more talented than me. I’m just giving you my background so you see the situation I’m in.

Thank you 😊

If anyone is an incoming or already a student at Stuyvesant, I have a few questions

So I'm an incoming student and seeing how difficult and competitive it is to get in, I want will assume that its likely a lot of people are going to the school without their friends to come with. (not definite) This is the case for me and I want to ask if anyone else is in the same situation, whether it be incoming or already a student. My friends don't live very close and they go to completely different high schools in different borough, and middle school was the only time we ever get to see each other. Though I'd rather be positive, realistically we will probably drift away from each other and I will have to find new friends in Stuyvesant. However, I'm worried that people already have super close friendships so I won't find my people or I'll join group and end up getting excluded since I'm a new addition. Not to sound selfish, but i really want to have a fresh start and form a friendship from the beginning without anything already established for them. So if anyone was in my position (meaning they're already a student at Stuyvesant) or will be (Incoming Stuyvesant student) please tell me your experiences or any aid you can give.

thank you 😊
