We know that in canon there were absolutely people who worshipped the Endbringers and some people held Scion in a religious awe. Any being with enough awe inspiring power is likely gonna get worshiped by someone at some point.

Since Taylor’s power givers her the capability of performing a literal biblical plague, are there any stories out there where Skitter Skitters a little too much in her escalation and ends up inspiring some people to actually worship her? Even better if she’s horrified and embarrassed by it.

Also I specifically mean during her time as Skitter. Preferably while she’s still in Brockton Bay, during her Warlord era would be absolutely great.

I had the idea for this after reading other stories that delved slightly into how the Asian communities actually see Lung. It’s based around the idea that while a majority likely see him as he really is, a criminal who extorts them and enslaves them in all but name while only ‘protecting them’ to serve his own interests, there are probably a few out there that honestly buy into his whole ‘Great Protector’ act and truly see him as a hero protecting them, especially children too young to know better. The idea for this fic actually has one of said children as its MC. Inspiration for powers is drawn from Wiki Warrior and the general idea of controlling a specific substance/element/thing.

MC is a child/preteen cape with powers relating to medical substances/devices. However, he doesn’t realize that and thinks he actually has a power for creating drugs and drug-related machinery and controlling drugs in general. He triggers after surviving an attack on Lung’s territory by E88 members, specifically Hookwolf and several unnamed E88 members. He is orphaned during the attack, but witnesses Lung single-handedly arrive, kill the unpowered E88 members, and drive Hookwolf away. This inspires a near-worship of Lung in the MC, who now fanatically adores him. The MC eventually learns he now has powers and spends a few days learning how to use them and preparing, before making his way to the ABB and requesting to join and “serve the Great Protector”, as the name states.

His powers work like this: the MC can see “visions” of other fictional universes, like Fallout, Star Wars, Skyrim, etc, and he specifically sees things related to those universes' medicinal products and equipment, though he of course doesn’t know that and believes he’s just seeing formulas for tinker-made drugs and devices to make them. He is also made somewhat stronger and faster all around and can control drug (medicinal) substances within a range of around 30 ft around him in any direction. His main enhancement has been to his agility and dexterity, though he’s still weaker physically than most capes, leading him to focus on at-range attacks through throwing weapons like knives and syringes full of his drugs to affect his enemies. The voters can pick from among universes offered to decide what drugs and medicines/devices he’s going to get next.

Through his powers and the devices/formulas he learns how to make, the MC pushes the ABB far more heavily into the drug trade of Brockton Bay, leading to them becoming the force behind drug dealing, making and pushing, incidentally butterflying the Merchants out of existence because the ABB instantly crushes them as soon as they try to muscle in on the ABB’s trade. Because of this and his intense loyalty to the ABB and Lung himself, along with repeated shows of competence, he quickly rises up the Hierarchy of the ABB despite being younger than anyone else.

That’s the general idea. What does everyone think?

I’m looking for fics which what happens above. Either Taylor or whoever is the MC decides it’s a good idea to go and clear out all the sunken ships blocking off the Bay Harbor from opening.

Can be an act of genuine heroism to help the city, can be their idea of a good PR stunt, can even be a warlord/gang leader who decided that opening the Bay up would be a good for business cause it would boost the economy and give them more money to make/steal/acquire from the city residents.

I’d like stories where it happens fairly early on, doesn’t have to be in the first few thread marks , but I don’t want to have to go through 70k words and 38 thread marks to reach the point where it does either.
