Since most Catholics are going to hell, what’s the point of the church?

There’s a big article going around quoting lots of Popes and saints saying that not only are the vast, vast majority of people going to hell, the vast majority of Catholics are as well. So what’s the point of the church or any religion? Aren’t the atheists right that we should just enjoy ourselves and not care about anything since we’re all going to suffer for eternity anyway?

Is confession really the only sacrament that matters?

So my understanding is that God creates every individual uniquely. And everyone is created to go to Hell unless they’re baptized. But once someone is baptized sinning basically undoes the baptism, and then they’re going to hell again. Until they go to confession. So it seems like the only sacrament that actually affects our final destination is confession. And even then, it’s only temporary and you have to hope you die pretty much right after confession since you can sin in thoughts not just deeds. Am I wrong?

I’ve realized I don’t really love God, I fear him. What can/should I do?

This is going to be kind of rambling

I recently had a very intense health scare. And I realized how scared of death I am. And I realized that I’ve never really loved God, I’ve always just been afraid of him. I’ve never felt like I had a relationship with him. I never hear or feel anything when I pray to the point that I don’t know if I’ve ever actually prayed. And I remember reading about some saint (I can’t remember the name) who either had a vision or was the vision about in a moment one guy (I think it was saint) went to heaven, two people went to purgatory, and 30 million people went to hell. If everyone’s going to hell, what’s the point of anything? And how can I love a God that created me specifically to go to hell? Honestly, I’m really mad at God.
