I would love to hear your thoughts. Pen drawings are mostly just brain sketches, and pencil is actual "print out a skeleton and use that as reference"

The goal with a lot of my Dino art is to keep the eyes expressive. Animals have very beautiful eyes, despite how beady and static we make them look.

*Spoilers for Book One and my Avatar Legends Campaign, but i needed to ask for an outside opinion on my little headcannon

Hello, dear benders and non-benders alike.

For a campaign of The Avatar Legends TTRPG, I have been giving a lot of thought to the spirit world, and the Ocean and Moon Spirit in particular.

It is my understanding that spirits exist in a space between genders, and are more so shaped by how they're seen and treated.

In this line, I found it hilarious, that Book One of the original show doesn't really discuss the gender of the spirits until Yuei merges with the moon spirit, but in the remake, Yuei's actor seems to call the moon spirit "He" directly. I do not have a specific time stamp for this, but it happens in one of the last episodes of S1. This directly implies that gender matters, and she fuses with one of the gay spirits.

In a different vein, I like to believe that the Moon spirit is a sibling to the Sun spirit, and either there was jealousy with the ocean, or dislike toward it that drove a wedge between the sun and moon. This is why i dont only depict the sun spirit as a bird, but also a koi.

Thank you for reading, please feel free to comment below, I'd love to hear your thoughts

Does anyone here have any solid information on tattoos in the Viking and Pre-Viking Era Nordic cultures?

Take this post as seriously as you wish, but I am working on a project for some friends that happens to involve a set of European Mythical figures. For designing deities, I have made it a habit of including an inscription of their name, symbol or epithets somewhere in the design, which is where my question comes in.

In the lore of the project, Loki, after having his son Sleipnir taken into Odin's service, hides near the Mediterranean with his three new children, in fear of what he may do to them (he also seeks out Prometheus for his gift of prophecy, but that's a side fact)

My design of Loki takes a sympathetic approach to the trickster, and borrows from several reputable sources for clothing, hair and jewelry. But for the inscription of his identity, I've been wanting to try some tattoo work to make it stand out, but my research is muddied by modern pseudo-Viking macho culture. The best I could find is the typical transcription of his name into runes, but that seems shallow.

Is anyone here qualified to help out an artist who loves culture?

*Edit: Yes I am aware that Loki a largely christianised figure that's debated, but i personally believe he existed in some form befor ethe christianisation of Scandinavia, and want to treat him accordingly

Hello, lovely GoogleDeBunkers. I was asked if there were any societies that archeologists KNOW existed but haven't found conclusive evidence for. I found myself on several conspiracy sites and AI generated accounts in my research, and so I don't trust my sources. Anyone know more?
