I'm a fan of when he does historical/long running ones (before the great Atlantis drought) and I most of all really like when he just dives into the actual history and research behind specific archaeological sites n' whatnot.

Like I don't care when he mentions political stuff, with the past and present landscapes of what he focuses on it's pretty unavoidable, but when he just constantly talks about "we're fucked" and "the downfall of modern society" or some bullshit like that in these kinds of videos it really just ticks me off how cynical the videos can get.

I keep giving each one of them the benefit of the doubt when he posts one but I always end up clicking off every time he goes into a tirade about the modern anti-intellectual movement. Like, yes, I get it, it's very concerning and incredibly frustrating, but it feels like it comes up EVERY TIME and he says the same damn rant like a broken record.

Like, I'm pretty sure people who actually watch his videos are WELL AWARE of the contemporary state of the science and information landscape and so it sort of becomes really redundant.

Watching the Patreon early release of the Second Sphinx Debunked video. About half an hour in Milo goes on a serious, comprehensive, righteous rant about how a lot of conspiracy garbage is designed to distract us from the state of our fucked up world.

I work in voting rights in Texas. Our state has one of the most blatantly, unapologetically authoritarian governments in the country, and a lot of it has been a blueprint for the federal actions we are seeing now. The same people have been running the place for thirty years but they constantly lie that everything wrong with your life is the fault of trans black gay immigrant drag antifa.

Any time a public figure goes on what is clearly an off-the-cuff, heartfelt rant about how fucked up our current world is in the middle of a mostly unrelated topic, they get a lot of shit for not staying in their lane. But I celebrate it. It’s important. And it’s relevant.

Seems very appropriate to watch on the Fourth of July.

I cant watch this. Not figuratively not in any silly way- I literally cannot watch this.
Has anyone been able to archive it? Waybackmachine says the video couldnt be archived- likewise archivetube also says this.

I desperately would like to see this video, but clearly megacorpo freaks think i shouldnt be allowed to.

Edit, I watched it because it was reupload as an unlisted video by someone else. I'd like to add that saying "it's not blocked" is just stupid. The video title is literally that the atlas got Milo demonitised. You can see in the screenshot provided I have been blocked from watching it on his channel.

I appreciate that you want to share that this is not the case for you, but it doesn't mean you automatically stomp over whatever I'm experiencing. I know if I tell you otherwise I'll be downvoted- so I'm editing the post body instead to let any new commenters know.

In my head, it's basically "Stand By Me" with bored Homo erectus teens from a small cave seeking adventure. They just headed north up the Asian coast and never turned back, across to Alaska, down the west coast of North America. Not a population, just a dozen friends exploring the world.

But that's just my (incredibly poor) imagination at work.
