Catrina’s Curiosity Shop

Finally finished this one four days after I started it and now I can start on one of my four kits for the event. Very very little customization. She wanted a dog so I got her a little dog that looks similar to the one that she lost earlier this year. Added a dog bowl behind the counter which you can’t see but she’ll know it’s there and also the inside front wall was just cardboard so I printed out a sort of colorful brick wallpaper and put that in. Love how the battery is on this in the back which I realized I didn’t take a picture of it but it’s in its separate little door that swings open and looks a lot better than other battery packs in my opinion. Definitely easy build very colorful. These photos were taken with just the lights on inside.

Cutebee Kissa Cafe

Not a full review like an a traditional sense but just my opinions. First my favorite things to put together are Detective agencies and anything Tiny food related. You may have seen some of the teeny tiny 3 1/2“ x 4“ sushi and noodle shops that I’ve recently done from Temu and had a fun experience.Cutebee is one of my favorite companies for bills. I probably have another four or five of their kits waiting to be built and I would say a good 1/3 of my total builds are from this company. So theoretically I should have loved this build. Everything went together relatively smoothly up until the final stuff. I don’t know why but the roof would not fit, the light fixture should have been put on before the wall was placed and a lot of the parts had to be glued down where most of the time they fit in so well that glue isn’t needed. The paper flowers are a cute concept but strange when you could probably just give us fake plants. One of the parts was also mislabeled so you will see in the flower box I have actual shrubbery instead of the 2-D that they sent because they mislabeled a piece and I didn’t want to figure out which one of the remaining pieces was the one that I should use. I believe they labeled it as an E 10 instead of E9. Anyway, the inside good, outside not so good. I wish they would give you more light to see the inside. It literally just needs one more lightbulb somewhere in there. Another addition that I may do is adding an outside light that is attached to the building. Oh and the inside light fixture in case I didn’t mention was infuriating to make as well. They do not give you an extra piece for what is the lampshade so be very gentle with that. I’m not sure why this particular build was so troubling for me. Maybe because it was supposed to be easy and I can no longer do easy builds. Lol

I did do some customizing but not as much as I wanted to. And also you may see that there is a hole in the middle of the floor and that is because they wanted you to put a box of coffee right in the middle of the floor which is a Trip hazard and looks ridiculous so I moved it to behind the cash register and underneath the window that pops out. Another thing is the sliding window that’s where the table is I feel like there should be a sliding window instead where the coffee is served. That sliding window doesn’t really slide that well anyway. So it’s not like I’m going to use it or anyone is going to be inside and using it but it’s just a conceptual thing to me I guess.

My backlog…

Is this a collection? It’s a collection of backlogs.

Yes those 5 on the right are tiny Temu rooms begging for customization (yes please).

What’s your backlog like?

Yay I finished Su Dongpo’s Life (with lots of customization)

I posted a few hours ago with my resin water and just went ahead and went full out today I’m finishing this build so I can start on something else. Let me know what you think about it. Always love to get any feedback since I am still a newbie.

Ok I decided to make it more than it is…

Y’all have been an inspiration. This is the beginnings of making the Cutebee Serene Courtyard my own. I have limited crafts, and obviously it’s not completed. I am waiting to get the resin I ordered (for the stepping stones and pond, possibly the bamboo but lmk what you think) and my acrylic paint pens to clean up these edges (both coming tomorrow).

Anyway, how are we feeling about this? I wasn’t sure about the “water” falling but it is what it is-and once it gets under the
Lights I’m hoping it looks cool. Some of the stuff is a bit larger than I wanted it to be but all in all I’m pretty happy with my first off the tracks build.

I hated this build (Nebula Common Room)

Mostly because of the lighting. But yeah. This build almost went through the wall twice and made me scream once. 🤣🤣🤣

It has literally taken me all day. And I don’t even really like it. 😭😭😭

I did add a few extra things and tried to sand down/paint the attachment points.

Another one finished (lol)

Rolife Sakura Wine Alley.
5/10 would not recommend.
Pros: well made, relatively clear instructions but I’m so used to the crappy ones I got confused by these. The lights are great and the window on top is a great concept. The finished product is 9/10.

Cons: it’s REALLY difficult reading E and F sheets. Where things are is a bit confusing (where the pieces are located). Again, maybe it over explained in the directions and I’m used to translated into English directions that somehow make more
sense. Was not ready to actually do electrical work, as my fingers aren’t really able to handle tiny work (think Godzilla destruction). Worst of all is the side wall was awful. It was seating correctly and legit almost made me walk away from the build. I had to disassemble the dang thing, attach it, glue it, then reattach the pieces (did I mention Godzilla?). I dislike the look of the
Plastic plants. Recommend switching them out for something more realistic, as well as cherry blossoms that are more 3D. May add those in when I can drive again. Had some leftovers so I added some moss to where it was painted on the floor (see video).

Again, final product is 9/10. Don’t know if I want to tackle another Rolife right yet.

I have SIX headed my way. So be prepared for those.

Also I was listening to my podcast so sorry about that.

Another surgery, another setback

Quick background:
54 female. Tore my medial meniscus root ligament 2 weeks before my 50k. 7 weeks post op found out my surgery failed and I have to have a second surgery.

I had just gotten back to the gym and being able to at least bike. Oh. And drive.

Now I will be homebound, no driving for 5-6 weeks again. No leg workouts. No biking with 2 legs outside. It’s already been rough.

I’ve been working strictly upper body/core since my new dx. I just purchased a Total gym off of fb marketplace to try and replicate most of the upper body stuff at home, as well as some only one-legged exercises and simulated rowing.

I guess I’m not here to ask for advice, mostly complaining and trying not to be frustrated. Running is my passion, my hobby, and quite frankly how I identify (like my pronoun I guess lol).

Has anyone had such a setback where you feel the same?? Weightlifting is not a substitute at all for me. It’s ok but I would rather be outside.

Ok done for now. Thanks for reading.

Team ascend. ☺️☺️

For the Rangers Ultra

Has anyone ever run this race? Can you tell me if there are cutoff times each day? I couldn’t find anything on their site or brochure. This is a bit of a dream of mine to run this race so anyone who has run it appreciate any comments you can provide.

Injured ultra runner and ladder

So I’m 6 w post op from a nasty meniscus injury repair and started using ladder to strength train while I heal. I am currently using Limitless with Coach Kelly, as I find it to be easier to swap exercises for certain leg and I can’t be on my knees yet.

I was thinking Versa with Abbie but don’t know how much running/walking/stair climbing/etc there is. I can only bike right now. Any insights? I love the Limitless program but just wondering any thoughts for someone who is doing Versa or has done both.

Thanks!
