Active workout time?

What happened to the “Active workout time” section in the workout? It may have been innacurate but it helped me understand my effort for the day.

Anyone missing it too?

Movewell - long term?

Is anyone on team Movewell and has been for a long time? Or doesn’t plan on switching teams?

I’ve been on movewell for Shred series, doing all 6 workouts a week and I’m enjoying it, feeling good etc! I understand it’s a beginner friendly team, also seems like there’s a large amount of older people on this team (which is fine!)

But I’m wondering whether I should move on to a more advanced team or if Movewell is also good as a long term team??
I see a lot of people starting here and moving on so I’d love to know your thoughts!

Ps- I’m a woman in my early 30s, have dumbbells treadmill bands etc and can use a join if need be.. what teams could I look at for open season??

Thank you!!

Which team makes you ache the most?

Coming up to my first full month on the app and I’ve been doing Define. I am enjoying it but I feel like I rarely feel achy the day after a workout, I’ve been upping my weights and I don’t know I just don’t feel like physically I feel like my body has done much compared to other apps I’ve used. I feel it in my core with the core rounds but not anything else really. Which teams have you done that give you that amazing aching feeling the next day?

Crews Control at home

Hi, I have a one month trial of the app and have started with Crews Control. I am trying to decide if I want to commit to the App.

I worked out in a gym for a long time and then transitioned to home workouts. I have dumbbells from 5-50 pounds and a bench. I am looking for something to keep me motivated to work out at home.

I am in first week of crews control and am liking it so far. But already in this week I had to change a lot of exercises due to lack of equipment. Anyone done Crews control for a while with just dumbbells? Is it doable? Or will I not get as much out of it? Thanks

Apple Watch connectivity has been an issue

Hi all,

I have been having so many issues connecting my Apple Watch to the app during my workouts. No matter what I do including restarting my watch and my phone, reinstalling the app I still have the problem of getting the yellow check mark when starting the workout and then the timer gets stuck at 0 while the calories and HR changes normally. The resume/pause/next/previous buttons work but no timer or rep count.

The real odd thing is that the watch interface continues to run and starts tracking my calories even after ending the workout on the app and trying to force close the app on the watch doesn’t do anything.

Has been going on since the latest update. It has been a real pain every time. Anyone else have this issue or know of a fix?

Struggling to like it

I started with align about 3 weeks ago and I just kinda don’t like it. I want to lose about 40 lbs. I am considering switching to define unless there is another one I should look at? I’m a 38 year old female. I have already lost 100lbs with diet and glp-1 support but now I need to tighten up some muscles and lose the extra bit I have. I am working out from home only and have access to a treadmill. Any advice?

How many series until you noticed results?

I know there's so many factors that go into results (i.e. nutrition, step count, etc.) but curious for those of you who have done multiple series on the ladder app, when did you (or others!) truly see a difference in your body? I just joined a few weeks ago at the start of the shred series and am on team limitless. I mentally have felt better since week one! Curious when the other results will fall into place.

Been with Ascend for two months now

And it’s the most consistent I’ve ever been at the gym. Ladder has truly changed my life. Having a plan ready for me and not having to stress about making one myself or what I’m working out that day, has made the gym so much more enjoyable. I just show up and follow the plan and it’s no stress on me.

I just can’t speak highly enough about this app and the program Ascend. Aria is amazing. 10/10 from me.

If you’re thinking about joining the app, I say just go for it!

Team with higher rep count?

Curious if there’s a team that often programs 2-3 sets of an exercise with a higher rep count? I workout from home and am limited in dumbbell weight - finding I’m likely needing to increase weight but cannot.

Currently on Align and add in reps or sets to exercises to help with progressive overload but not sure if that’s even correct. I was wondering if there’s a team that already programs with higher rep count or if I should continue with Align and adding in reps/sets.

Any advice is appreciated, I’m a beginner and only have been with the app one year.

Align vs Define

Hi,
I‘ve joined Ladder 2 months ago and am on Team Define with Maia. I guess i was one of those girls who fell for her insta posts because they were really all over my insta for a few weeks. In general i like her workouts but i am a bit confused since the workouts she is posting on insta differ extremely from those on the app. The insta workouts are more pilates inspired with a bodyweight-focus and those on the app are quite functional / progressive overload focused. That’s why i‘m currently thinking about switching to Team Align. Also reading through some reddit posts here i agree that Maia has a very poor form sometimes which makes me question her overall approach. I have a background in yoga, i have a 200h YTT license, so in general i know what i am doing and how to move my body in certain postures, that‘s not the problem but i also don‘t see any progress with Maia‘s workouts so far.
How is your experience with Maia? Anyone switched from her team to Align or another team yet?
Maybe some background info on my goals: i‘ve been working out since ~12 years now, started in the gym doing strength training with progressive overload, became really puffy and inflamed, then switched to a mix of yoga / pilates and strength training 2 years ago, not looking to loose a lot of weight but becoming more lean and toned, so basically what most women want haha.

Are the longer guest passes always available?

Thought I read somewhere about the 30 day passes stopping soon? Was waiting to be cleared to work out at full intensity again after a procedure but don’t want to miss and have to wait until whenever the next season is!

Thank you!

Best team?

Hi all!!

I’m super interested in joining the ladder app!

I’ve seen coach Maia on my FYP for over a year now and used to do her TikTok ab workouts

I currently have a trainer & try to weightlifting 3-4 times a week plus 1 pilates & 1 lagree day

I’m interested in toning my body & continuing to build muscle so I’m confused on which team to join… (I’d stop seeing my trainer & the Pilates/lagree)

Although interested in define, I’m concerned with the low weight tbh. I’ve gone through that route of low weight high reps and it didn’t work for me. For example, I see they do bicep curls with 10 lb where I do them with 17lb. Can I choose my own weight or does the coach give you weight? I don’t wanna lose my muscle progress but I really wanna tone up if that makes sense

Also how can I find out the schedule? I’d like to join at the beginning of a series, I saw they do like a 2 week rest to switch teams?

Team Align

I’m postpartum about 1 year. Now only have access to a home gym.
Recommendations are for Sasha , I’ve read fantastic things but I think I’m the only one who just can’t get into it. But don’t know who else to try I miss the outside gym😭

What's the summer series like?

For those that were on Ladder last summer, what can I expect the Summer Series to be like? Will there be new splits and KPIs released or is it completely different form the other series? Didn't mind Reset and loved Baseline but Shred, I can't wait for it to be over! Maybe because I get my conditioning outside of Ladder and really use Ladder primary for strength training and I prefer the 6-8 rep range not these 12-15 rep ranges.

Workout previews? New to app!

Hi all,

I just started a 30 day trial and I'm a bit confused by the app. I have been weight lifting on and off for about 10 years and was ready to try something new. I would say I'm at an intermediate level currently.

Is there a way to preview what the workouts are like for different teams? I did the welcome workout for Evolve/Coach Samantha so I can now see this week's workouts, but I'm wondering if there are others I would like better. I'd like to figure that out before my trial ends so I can decide whether I want to stick with it. I didn't think the welcome workout was particularly indicative of what the actual workouts are like, so that felt a bit pointless.

So far Evolve seems fine, but I do enjoy some barbell work and there doesn't seem to be much. For example, right now the programming includes DB b-stance RDLs and DB goblet squats. Chest press calls for a machine. I know I can swap them out, but I wonder if there is another coach/program that is already programming this type of work that wouldn't require deviating from the assigned workouts.

Another question -- will the workouts next week be the same as this week? How often do they change? I don't love the idea of the programming changing every week. I kind of figured (like other programs I have done in the past) that it be a set program for 4-8 weeks and then change a bit/introduce new exercises.

Appreciate any insight/thoughts/advice. Thanks!

Random DMs

In the last two days I’ve had two random DMs from people who’ve only completed the welcome workout. Both messages said “I have a question, if that’s okay”. Both profiles looked a bit sus so I just ignored them.

Anybody else? Maybe something Ladder should look into?

Quad tear?

Hey yall I work out pretty actively but I’ve recently upped my activity massively due to more time in my schedule!
I work out 6x a week with cardio after each 45 min workout.
Today as I stepped back into a reverse lunge I felt a sudden sharp pain in my upper inner quad that I’ve not felt before.
Google says it’s probably an acute quadriceps tear.
I had just finished my quadriceps sets so that would kinda track!
Anyone had this happen? How long did it take to heal? Am i looking at being out of legs for a week or more?
Any advice?
