Quantum Fiber has been absolute trash...

Quantum Fiber has been absolute trash...

Was on CenturyLink Fiber for nearly 10 years, 1-4ms latency 0 packet loss. Moved a few miles away to a new house and neighborhood that only had Quantum avaialble; it has been just garbage. Every time a tech comes out they say there is nothing they can do other than swapping out SmartNIDs over and over to the same result.

Im at a lost for what to do.

Two Identical New Homes, Different Quantum Fiber Speed Options. Why?

Has anyone successfully replaced a C5500XK with a Q1000K and gotten access to higher Quantum Fiber speeds?

I'm currently on Quantum Fiber's 940/940 plan. My neighbor, whose house is literally right next door to mine, is able to order the 2 Gbps / 2 Gbps plan. Both of our homes were built this year by the same builder, and we're served from the same neighborhood infrastructure.

The only obvious difference I've found is the equipment that was installed. Quantum installed a C5500XK at my house and a Q1000K at my neighbor's house.

I've called Quantum multiple times asking if they can swap my C5500XK for a Q1000K, but I've been told they won't replace it because the C5500XK isn't having any issues.

I'm tempted to buy a new quantum branded Q1000K SmartNID off eBay, install it myself, try to register it with Quantum and see what happens.

I know the ONT/SmartNID isnt the only determining factor for speed at the house, but figured I would see if anyone has had any suceess with this approach?

Thanks!
