having 500 followers but 0 viewers is a special kind of pain
I hit 500 followers a few months ago and I was so hyped. I thought "okay, finally, i've made it". Then I’d go live and... nobody. 0 viewers. Maybe 1 if my mom felt bad for me that day lol.
It makes you feel like a "washed up" streamer before you even actualy started. You start questioning everything. Did I get boring? Was it just a fluke? Am I just yelling into the void?
I think the truth is people just forget. Life moves fast. Someone can follow you once and then just never click your notification again, and when they do eventually come back the stream is completly quiet because you've given up. It’s a vicious cycle.
I’m trying to basically reanimate my channel now, but it’s hard. I realized I needed to give people a reason to hang around again instead of just assuming my old followers would magically show up.
Has anyone else had a decent follower count but basically zero viewers? How do you even keep yourself motivated to talk when the counter stays at 0?
