Generally it's a question

What do you do when no one is watching?

I have a problem with talking to myself because I dont want to seem crazy. Im constantly stuck at only streaming for an hour. only because I record YouTube videos using twitch on my xbox. Also with the fact I have a female cousin who constantly slams her brothers success in my face.

Is there any help for me? Im looking for some kind of streaming guidance.

Is it too late to be a streamer?

People already watch big streamers like Speed or Kai or stuff like that. But I feel like the Streaming community is SO damn crowded now.

Usually I try not to think about it, but nowadays I look at other Streamers and think "It's YOUR fault I can't be seen" so I just stop content altogether.

I'm usually someone who needs to see results before he can proceed.

No results = I suck and should not continue streaming or content anymore because of how bad i am.

Trying to be a Cozy Streamer

Hello all,

I am trying to figure out the best way to go about being a "cozy streamer". If that's even the correct term.

I made a channel, and I am trying to gear it towards being "relatable female gamer". I play stuff like Animal Crossing and Sims 4 and Minecraft and Neopets, etc. But occasionally I'll play Fortnite or other more intense games with my husband. My thing is, I'm not really good at ANY of the games. I'm a very mid player. With ACNH, my island is basic. I don't time travel, my island doesn't look super aesthetically pleasing, nothing like that. In Sims 4, I don't build stuff or make CC. I just play the games challenges. And so on and so forth.

And all this being said. I guess I don't feel like I have much to offer for viewers. When I made the channel, I was hoping to be "relatable" and have some people that'd like that idea and we could all chat and play games together type thing. Make a small little cozy community. But now I'm thinking that I may be in over my head..

Any suggestions? I know that a lot of people say that I should start by making little videos or reels to get my stuff out there. And I am trying that. But my videos aren't getting a lot of traction. And I'm not the best at editing yet. I feel in my field (for example Animal Crossing), there are so many very successful influencers that make very cute videos, that my "mid" videos get lost.

Anyways, any advice or encouragement would be greatly appreciated!

The "pity-watch" trap: How I stopped streaming for my friends and actually started growing

We've all been there. You click the go live button and only your partner, friend and maybe a supportive cousin show up. It's a bubble and their support feels great at first.. After a few months you realize it's actually a barrier. You're not building a community; you're just having a chat on Twitch.

I was stuck in this pity-watch phase for long. I thought having those three people was enough.. When I checked my growth stats they were flat. The problem wasn't my gameplay. It was the atmosphere of the stream. When a random person clicks on a stream with 3 viewers who're clearly friends they feel like an outsider. They hear inside jokes see a conversation and leave quickly because theres no room for them.

I realized I had to change. To attract strangers I had to look like strangers already liked me. I had to stop being a "guy playing for his friends" and start looking like a "rising star." I decided to change my strategy. I stopped asking my friends to keep a tab open and focused on building a "Technical Foundation." I made sure that every time I hit the go live button there were already 8 to 14 viewers who didn't feel like family or close friends. This small change moved me out of the "pity zone". Into the top ranks of my category.

The result was almost immediate. When real strangers saw me at the top of the list and clicked in they didn't see a private chat. They saw a growing stream with some momentum. They felt "safe" to lurk because they weren't the ones in the room. By creating that image of interest I finally started attracting real regulars who had no idea who I was.

The hardest truth to accept was that my friends support was actually holding me back. Once I focused on looking like a streamers , with an active audience the community finally started to grow on its own. You have to look like you're already successful to give people a reasons to help you get there.

Have you ever felt like an "intruder" when joining a stream where th streamer and their one viewer are clearly best friends?

Newish streamer wanting to grow follower count

was wondering if I could get tips.. so I’m a female 33 and I usually just stream marvel rivals.. I started early Feb and got affiliate pretty quick in 2 weeks. I currently have 251 followers and 17 subs…

im not a “great player I’m more of a chill let’s have fun type gal” subs are nice but im lowkey focusing more on followers.

also not a girl that shows cleavage or is trying to look hot on stream, but I do have a cat cam and a cam for myself

i try to engage chat often and have a kitty cam where my cats hang out and viewers can redeem treats for them.

I feel like an average nerdy girl.. but I want to bring more people into my channel ( I didn’t even know twitch exsited until a week before I made the acct)

i also upload clips ( funny or cool game play) on insta, YouTube and TikTok)

any tips or suggestions in what I can do to improve or grow without having to show skin 🫠

Youtube Stream Vod has no chat

today i streamed my gaming session for the first time. now that the Vod is saved and i can check analytics etc, i saw under the customization tab that it has a checked option for 'Live Chat Replay' - when i watch the Vod myself, i see no chat and there is no option to show / hide chat like you have when watching another live stream. the video is fully processed by now too.

do i need to select something else?

Newish funny streamer. Kinda weird too

Hey everyone. I’m a newer streamer who somehow manages to be both decent at games and an absolute disaster at the same time.
I play pretty much everything: shooters, survival games, horror, party games, RPGs… if it exists, I’ll probably rage at it eventually.

What you can expect:

surprisingly solid gameplay
weird commentary at 2am energy
accidental comedy
occasional clutch moments followed immediately by embarrassment
zero pretending to be an esports god
If you like streams that feel more like hanging out with the funniest guy in Discord instead of watching someone sweat silently for 6 hours, you’ll probably fit right in.
Come say hi, roast my gameplay, or witness me get jump-scared into another dimension

Need some advice

So Ive recently started streaming on Twitch, and I plan to be a Champaign streamer, meaning I mainly just play story based games like the Arkham series, Naruto ultimate Ninja storm series and stuff like that. I'm also trying to be a more chill, laid back streamer that talks a bit and makes like, sarcastic comments and stuff. Any advice? I'll accept any at this point 😭😅
