Bride changing expectations for wedding party

i am a bridesmaid in a wedding for a friend. Originally, it was stated to all that everything would be covered--the bachelorette weekend, hair, makeup, etc. The only thing I would have to buy is the bridesmaid dress. Now, the bride is changing her tune and saying they are no longer going to cover things. Everything she has selected is crazy expensive. For example, hair and makeup would cost me over $300, on top of an expensive dress and alterations. I wasn't able to attend the bachelorette weekend because of a family commitment and starting a new job, which worked out well because that ended up costing closer to $1000 (again, after being told it would be covered). I'm really bothered by this because the person I know isn't high maintenance and is very low key about stuff, but I'm starting to realize that isn't the case. My sister got married a few years ago and while there is always drama to go around with weddings, nothing was ever this complicated. It's annoying that brides can see their weddings as excuses to spend a ton of money and expect everyone to keep up!

Dryer vent cap -- code violation?

We're in a new construction home and during our first year checkpoint walkthrough (to identify issues that need fixing) we pointed out this vent on the second story of our house. The builder rep eventually came back to say that it was our dryer vent that is super clogged with lint and a huge fire hazard. However, there are just two of us that live in this house, do laundry like once a week, and have lived here for less than a year. None of the other houses in our neighborhood have this grid cap on the same type of exterior vent. So, is this a builder issue or a homeowner issue? Based on AI searches and Google searches, this is not normal for an exterior dryer vent and in fact might violate code. Looking for thoughts and suggestions!

the vent cap kind of looks like this: https://www.lowes.com/pd/IMPERIAL-4-in-Plastic-Hood-Dryer-Vent-Cap/4753396

it isn't one that fits over the vent but instead attaches to the bottom. All the others in our neighborhood that we saw don't have this grid cap and instead have what looks like a circular flap near where the vent meets the wall.
