Thinking of doing hospitalist peds + outpatient from strictly outpatient for 2 years..thoughts?

Like title says...I've been 100% outpatient peds for the past 2 years, thinking of starting hospitalist as well...As outpatient hasn't been as busy as I would have thought. It would be in a rural community hospital (few beds, mostly nursery, inpatient, level 2 nicu) 7-10 days inpatient one day post call, 3 weeks outpatient. Haven't done inpatient for 2 years, but my residency was very heavy. Has anyone done something similar? Any advice, thoughts?

Peds attendings, question for outpatient NICU follow ups

Do you guys have a good resource for NICU follow up patients, once discharged ? I haven't seen too many since being an attending, and where I trained there was a dedicated nicu follow up office who handles ophthalmology follow up etc etc.. thank you!!!

Sports physicals help

Pediatricians....newer attending.... during sports physicals, are you also doing hernia/GU checks for males? I live is a very small town, thats predominantly FM, and 85% of the families decline saying they've never had to do it before and its "too much" or dome sort of push back. How do you respond to the push back? As a side note, I've discovered several an undescended testicle in older males who've never been checked before.
