Chance me: 159 LSAT; 3.97 UGPA

I’m 30 years old and an LMSW. I went to Fairfield University but had to transfer to a state school as my mother became mentally ill and we could no longer afford it (writing about it for my personal statement as I was kind of homeless for a bit). Had a 3.88 at FU and graduated from SCSU w a 3.97. I worked for almost two years as a journalist until deciding to go to social work school. Got my MSW at Columbia University and graduated with a 4.0. I’ve been working in legal NFPs for nearly 6 years (counting my internships). Most of my WE at these NFPs has been centered in mitigation or providing therapy to ppl on pre-trial, probation, or just re-entering. I’m not a minority. I'm retaking LSAT in September to hopefully break into 160s.

Schools I’m applying to this fall: UCONN, Quinnipiac, Northeastern, BU, Suffolk, UMaine, New Hampshire, Pace, Vermont, WNE, Syracuse, Albany, temple.

I need to get a FR or as close to one to attend law school, I know its unlikely ill receive that at schools like BU/NE/Temple

[CT]*Sigh* question about a carpet stain

Hi all,

I just moved into a spot in CT and unfortunately spilled something on the carpet. My landlord noticed and kinda threatened that I'd have to pay for brand new carpet if I didnt clean it up (he says it would be worth $5k to replace it). For context, the stain was from coffee and about 6 inches big. I was able to lift it with carpet cleaner and its not noticeable unless you are really looking...

I'm just curious if he could actually charge us that amount considering the carpet is not permanently damaged. I understand it may not be considered wear and tear, but surely these kind of stains would only be a cleaning charging fee if for some reason I didn't clean it myself upon move out?

Thanks!

Edit: we went over it again and the stain is gone. I think he is getting the near 5k amount by saying he'd charge us to replace ALL carpeting. Could he do that if we stained something again?

Help me get to the mid-160s 😎😎😎😎😎

HELLLLOOO REDDIT!

Allegedly, almost 150k of you viewed my post last week about overcoming the odds and getting a 159 on the June LSAT. (N e a t)

Now I need all 150k to help me get to my goal score of 165😁! I’m retaking in September and have scored in the low 160s a few times. I’d appreciate any tips on how to consistently score mid-160s.

Here are some of my problem areas:

1.) I’ve noticed that I often don’t register qualifiers in a stimulus and subsequently pick an AC that is too strong/weak. How do I get my brain to better register their presence?

2.) Ive never properly studied RC as I usually get -5 to -6 wrong. I feel this is easily where I could get those few extra points. Which study materials do you recommend?

3.) flaw questions are enemy no. 1. The language used in the ACs always throws me off, especially if it’s a case of deciding if it’s a conditional or C&E flaw. While I’m getting better at this, I’m definitely looking for steps I can take to better identify what the flaw is.

I’d appreciate any help for these problems or other tips! Thanks for reading!!!!!!

Surprise! Another question re: June LSAT

Howdy,

I just listened to the Powerscore podcast. I had the experimental section with maple trees, sick deer, etc. Does anyone remember what the first few questions were for that section? I’m trying to remember if it was my first or third LR….

Thx!!

Am I delusional?

Hi!

Took the LSAT for the first time today! You may have seen my post yesterday about wanting to die because I was so nervous about taking it. Turns out it wasn’t that bad!

Definitely struggled during some parts, but overall feeling good about it. For peeps who have taken it before: if you felt good after the test did your score reflect your confidence? 🥹

LSAT Registration

Anyone trying to sign up for the June LSAT and the ProScheduler screen has just been a white screen that says "Loading..." ? I've exited and restarted the queue twice only to end up staring at that screen again.

Looking for quotes to ship my 2015 Jeep Wrangler from my apartment in Hollywood to Guilford, Ct. (33020 to 06437). Probably need it picked up the latest 6/5. The car runs.

Open shipment only, not looking to break the bank.

Hello fellow defenders of blind kitties,

I am posting here solely to read personal experiences, not seek medical advice nor judgement. I have been blessed to care for my cat for almost 9 years (although he is probably anywhere from 10-13 yrs old), and he is now quite disabled. He was diagnosed with diabetes approximately two years ago. He had one of his eyes removed this past summer and adapted quite well. He then even went into remission (!) and we thought we were in the clear. Unfortunately, the diabetes started back up again in January and with a vengeance. As of last week, he is now 100% blind--he still has the other eye, for now. He has never been a very playful cat, but he lovessss to cuddle and eat lol. Recently though, I've noticed the cuddles are much less and he is not howling for food everyday at the crack of dawn. He sleeps most of the day now, and almost never moves.

I worry tremendously about his quality of life. I wish I could talk to him and ask if he is happy. I'm wondering if anyone on here has any similar experiences and when you knew it was time. I love this cat like he were my son and since he was diagnosed I've always been terrified he is secretly in pain. He is a trooper and so resilient though... he inspires me to do brave things everyday and I just want to make sure I'm doing right by him.

I appreciate any and all advice.

Hi all,

I live in Hollywood (around Sheridan St. and Rt. 1) and this sweet Russian Blue came to my porch door last night. I would like to keep her, but want to make sure she is not someone else’s.

If you are missing a grey cat, DM me some photos and I will let you know if it’s her.

Thanks!
