Your ways to avoid scenario traps.
I want to know, If you have your own, universal ways to avoid or anticipate traps in Call of Cthulhu scenarios? I mean the problems with plot bottlenecks, decline of plot pace, scenario loopholes, "problematic" players (rambo style player or "I'm afraid of everything" player) etc. I'm asking because I think, that a big part of having GM experience, especially in investigative TTRPGs, is to see this kind of problems from a mile and prevent them. Like for example "oh, they probably will try to escape using the car, so the bad guys will flat their tires".
I want to know that because I see that GMs modify slightly even prepared scenarios to avoid those kind of problems. A lot of them, who are experienced can do this in the fly, but non-experienced GM don't have this kind of skill.
