If it weren’t for the September 11 attacks, air travel wouldn’t be as safe as it is today, so Osama bin Laden indirectly contributed to improvements in air travel security. Additionally, more people die in car crashes in a week than in the 9/11 attacks, so car crashes are just as tragic—if not more—and represent a larger ongoing issue. 9/11 received more attention because it was a single, highly visible, localized event. Tragic events are necessary for the advancement society so I would not stop it if I had the power.
