apartment lease

long story short i have been dealing with an odor in my apartment along with a list of various other things and possible mold for MONTHS, i've complained so much to them they can smell it and can't find the source. I was offered 2 choices one was to transfer apartments the other was to break my lease without fees on july 30th i got that email giving me then 2 choices. i submitted my 60 days to leave and get a email back saying i have to pay $2k+ to break my lease now. what should i do? i have everything in writing. she went back on her word. i asked her could i take some time to decide she said yes, it's been 1-2 weeks. now they are clueless

APARTMENT FROM HELL

long story short i've been having an odor coming from my hvac & kitchen sink cabinet for about 2-3 months. The smell would fill my whole apartment and smell like sewage constantly. They kept having people come out but didn't fix anything because " they can't locate the smell". I eventually was fed up and called code compliance, they came and gave a violation. A week later they sent someone i've never seen from the company out. They say they can smell it but also can't locate it so they're at a stump. I mentioned breaking my lease with no penalty's because at this point the city wrote them a violation already so there is an issue but they can't fix. they mentions transferring me to a different unit, i told the I don't really want to be out here because i'm pretty sure management is irritated with me & im irritated with them, the property manager is always rude when i bring it up. it wouldn't be a good fix. They informed me that the previous manager no longer was with them. so now I am open to transferring but the only thing is I was a bigger apartment, i'm willing to pay the extra but i do want them to go down atleast $100 for what i've been having to deal with since living here since December. What should I do? should i try to transfer to a bigger apartment or continue trying to break my lease ?

I POSTED THIS ALREADY BUT NEED MORE INSIGHT. i recently moved into an apartment a couple of months ago and have been having issues with smells. The smell comes from under the sink in the kitchen, it smells like rotten or sewage. when i first moved in maintenance made my dishwasher hose into a high loop smell went away it has now came back i've tried using enzyme cleaner in drains still didn't work. I never use my dishwasher maybe once or twice to clean it when i moved it but the hose is very dirty could that be the issue from the smell? it gets worse when using hot water. The first picture is before maintenance came to fix it & the second picture is after. He added another ptrap which i dont think will fix the issue. what should i do?
