S1II SOC Sports Photography

This is the first game where I chose to shoot with auto WB, spot metering and in jpeg. I’ve always shot in RAW even on my daily shooting, so just imagine my anxiety levels while covering this whole game is jpeg. I’m striving to make my work flow quicker so that was my reason for the setting change. The fear I had about shooting in jpeg no longer exists. I guess in the long run I a more intentional about my settings.

I know that you’re still able to make slight edits to jpeg files, but shooting in jpeg feels so prominent to me lol 🤷🏾‍♂️ maybe that’s just me lol

S9 images from dad cam to pro work and more.

When the S9 first came out, I was so quick to shut it down, but as my kids grew older and wanted something smaller, I gave the S9 another look. After seeing all the cool photos people were sharing, I decided to go for it. Honestly, I don’t regret selling my second S5ii for an S9 at all. I’d do it again in a heartbeat! I’m absolutely smitten with my S9; it’s my go-to camera for everything. It’s my dad’s camera, my backup camera when I’m covering pro sports, or when I’m filming videos. I’ll definitely be the first to get a new version if Panasonic decides to update it. Even if they don’t, I’ll probably get a second one anyway. I absolutely love this camera!

Panasonic Teleconverter vs Sigma

Hey guys does anyone have any experience using a teleconverter from either Panasonic or sigma or have used both? What has your experience with them? I’m thinking of getting the Sigma 2x converter for my Sigma 300-600 f4 specifically when I cover baseball. For the position below. I took this shot at 600mm. Using a 2x teleconverter at this position will definitely allow me to get tighter shots here. Plus there’s only a $30 difference between the Sigma 1.4x and the 2x right now on B&H.

The Sigma 300-600 f4 handles 70fps from the S1II like a champ.

I am happy to announce that there is no limitations on the sigma 300-600 f4 while using it with the Lumix S1II. It handled 70fps like a champ. More footage to come soon.

The Sigma 300-600 f4 on the Lumix S1II was nothing near a disappointment.

I have not been in here for a while. Many of you have been following along as I’ve been covering Seattle’s professional sports teams with the S1II and Sigma 150-600. Well I finally purchased the new Sigma 300-600 f4. Although this is a big boy let me tell you, it performed like an absolute CHAMP.

Using your phone as an external monitor with a wired connection

Hey guys I just updated both my S9 and Lab app. Has anyone been able to use their phone as an external monitor when using a wired connection? Or is the wired connection only being used for file transfer?
