How would you go about recreating this effect on tank optics?

The kit includes a clear plastic part to cover the gap,but this wouldn't get the realistic blue sheen it has.

Su34 belly landing

I was wondering quite how much damage this would do to aircraft such as the su34 which have bottom mounted air intakes
