What would you stock in this 29 gallon based on the hardscape?
I’m at the end of my cycling and I was originally planning on an apisto and Cory’s - but I’m wondering if there’s not enough room for both of those based on how I have it set up?

**Anyone still get breakthrough aura on Nurtec preventative? And does your aura happen after waking?**
I started **Nurtec 75mg every other day for prevention on 7/16**. Before starting, I was having aura pretty frequently, including 3 within about 10 days.
I made it **28 days without an aura**, then had a breakthrough today. It was my usual pattern; woke up with a headache(rubber band around the head pressure). could tell an aura was coming, and about 20 minutes later it started.
Curious about two things:
If you take Nurtec every other day preventatively, **do you still get occasional breakthrough migraines/aura?**
For those with migraine with aura, **does yours tend to happen within an hour or so of waking up?** Mine seem heavily associated with mornings.
For more context, I normally get one to two a year for the last 15 years and this year alone I’ve had eight. Several of which were in the last two months. I had an MRI, CT, and two EEGs.
Bonus: anyone notice **hormonal/cycle changes** making breakthroughs more likely even while on a preventative?
**TL;DR:** Nurtec preventative has gotten me to 28 days between auras, but I had a breakthrough today. Wondering if others still get occasional breakthroughs on Nurtec and whether your aura tends to happen shortly after waking.
Has anyone else experienced such a dramatic increase in migraine frequency?
I’m a 29-year-old female, healthy, average weight, and I’ve had migraine with aura for about 15 years. They were always very predictable—usually 1–2 migraines a year.
Over the last year, I’ve had 9 migraines. Last month alone I had 4. They started happening about a month apart, then every two weeks, and now they’re only a week apart.
I’ve had an MRI, CT scan, two EEGs, two comprehensive eye exams, and hormone testing, and everything has come back normal. There haven’t been any major medication or birth control changes. I briefly tried a GLP-1 last year, but I don’t think it’s related.
The biggest change is that I no longer feel like I’m returning to “normal” between attacks. I almost feel like I’m in a perpetual state of migraine. Light sensitivity has become much worse than it used to be, and sounds bother me more too. I’ve had visual snow for as long as I can remember, but I never really noticed it until all of this started happening. Now it’s something I’m aware of almost constantly.
Another thing that’s changed is the headache itself. Historically, I actually didn’t have much pain with my migraines. I’d get the aura and then mostly just deal with the brain fog afterward. Now it’s much less predictable. Sometimes I still don’t get much pain, but other times I do. My second-to-last migraine actually started with me waking up to an excruciating headache, and then the aura followed shortly afterward, which was completely different from my usual pattern.
The aura is still similar, but my prodrome and postdrome have become much more intense. I feel extremely foggy, detached, exhausted, and almost confused at times, with episodes that feel like déjà vu. It can take days to feel even somewhat like myself again, and then another migraine seems to happen before I’ve fully recovered.
I’ve been taking magnesium and riboflavin consistently for about two months. I also tried topiramate for a couple of weeks, but I couldn’t tolerate it. Same with Rizatiptrin - I actually felt like it made me feel worse after my auras, so I stopped taking it.
I see my primary care doctor on Wednesday to discuss trying a preventative, but I’m honestly getting scared. I’m getting to the point where I’m anxious to even look in the mirror when I wake up because so many of my auras have started shortly after getting ready in the morning.
I know migraines can change over time, but this feels like such a dramatic shift. Has anyone else gone from having just 1–2 migraines a year to them suddenly becoming this frequent? If so, did you ever find a reason, or did they just evolve over time? I’m terrified this is my new normal.
