6.2 Recall

6.2 Recall

I picked up a ‘22 6.2 Denali 1500 last month with 25k miles and absolutely love it so far. No issues whatsoever (knock on wood). I use it every day for work towing and hauling, and I’m especially busy with it right now.

It hasn’t gone in for the 6.2 recall yet, and honestly I’m a little apprehensive about bringing it to the dealer after reading all the horror stories about people getting strung along, trucks sitting for weeks, no loaners, etc.

My question is: if my motor is running perfectly fine, should I just start running 0W-40 myself and keep going about my business? Or is it worth dealing with the hassle and having the dealer inspect it so everything is documented and backed by GM if something ever does happen?

Would appreciate any input!
