The I-series of the Ora will be launched on April 10. This includes the new 500 Ora note. With the 500 Ora, Orania is now the only community in South Africa with a trademark of this value!

The Ora is a coupon system that is linked 1:1 to the Rand. It is used in Orania with Rande as a monetary trading entity. So it is not a currency, but functions very much like one, while also strengthening the community in various ways.

The Ora is designed, printed and distributed by the Orania Sakekamer Local artists competed to draw the sketches for the new series. Oranians could submit their sketches of different icons, which were then considered for the new series.

The icons on the notes are:

- 10 Hours: Jan van Riebeeck

- 20 Hours: Andries Pretorius

- 50 Hours: Piet Joubert

- 100 Ora: MT Steyn

- 200 Ora: Totius

- 500 Hours: Carel Boshoff
