Add a rest system ?

Hello everyone!

I'm planning a Frostgrave session with 3 friends on a very large map (for now I've settled on 3x6 feet, but it could be bigger) with a custom scenario featuring a dragon in the center guarding a treasure.

The problem, I think, is that I'm worried the players won't be able to reach the dragon easily (because I also plan to spawn monsters on the map every turn for something truly epic), and I was wondering if it would be a good idea to implement some kind of rest system? A bit like in Maladum, for example. Instead of taking an action, a unit could rest if no enemy is in line of sight or if it's safe inside a building to regain 1 or 2 HP? I don't know if anyone has already implemented this kind of system?

Or perhaps add a purchasable item like a "camping kit" that a party could use once in the scenario to regain a certain amount of HP (possibly with a random event table to add a bit of spice).

What do you think? Is there a risk of this unbalancing the game too much?
