Success rate percentage oddness

Similar question to: https://www.reddit.com/r/adviice/comments/1pfsy3g/inconsistent_success_rates/

I've been noticing some oddness myself with success rates, and similar to that linked post, I put it down to user error on my part.

However, I've got a situation where I was 100% sure of the changes I made, then rolled back, and success rate did not return to where it was before. I then verified this behavior across multiple of my saved scenarios:

Scenario with survivor age of both my spouse and I at 100. Verify "Projections" page shows "Up To Date". Click it anyway, just to be sure. Refresh page, etc. Verify success rate (in my case, 99%).

Go into "Advanced Options", change my Life Expectancy to 70. Save, and Recalculate. Success rate drops to some new amount (77% in my case).

Go back into "Advanced Options", change my Life Expectancy back to 100. Save, and Recalculate. Success rate does not return to original amount. In my case, it went up to 93%, not back to the original 99%.

I've done this now on several scenarios, just to verify this happens. Change a single item (life expectancy in "Advanced options"), recalculate, change it back to original number, recalculate, and I don't end up back at my original "success rate".

Can changing the Life Expectancy in Advanced Options change some other settings that then don't get set back when putting the life expectancy back to it's original value? Or is this a bug?

And just to re-iterate, I've verified on several unlocked scenarios that just changing one value, life expectancy, recalculating, then changing it back to it's original value, and recalculating again, does not return me to my original success rate. I'm always 3% to 6% lower.

Any help appreciated.

Move container station binaries, files, and /share/Container data

I've made a new volume that is now at /share/CACHEDEV2_DATA. (faster disk)

I only had one volume before, so all container station and docker persistent storage are on /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA (and the /share/Container share).

What's the best / safest way to move everything over to /share/CACHEDEV2_DATA and have Container Station and the docker containers use the volume instead of the old volume?

changing expense/debt amounts vs override

What is the platform doing differently when I change a mortgage payment amount on the "Discovery -> Expenses" and "Discovery - Debts" vs doing it as an override on "Planning -> Projections"?

It is obviously doing something very different, as lowering my payment under "debts" and "expenses" (I make the same change both places to ensure they match) results in a wildly different outcome (success rate drops by 20%) vs just doing the same reduced amount as an override under the same mortgage for the same years in Projections (success rate drops by a couple %).

Possibly some of this should be split into a separate post, but I'm combining it all here because it seems to be related.

  1. What is the relationship between the mortgage payment field under "Expenses" and the mortgage payment field under debt? It feels to me like they should be tied together so that updating one updates the other, unless I'm misunderstanding.
  2. Because, followup to that, changing one but not the other gives odd results under "projections" and "summary" in the "planning" section . . . but I can't figure it out exactly, because that leads into #3:
  3. I can't figure out what math is being used to determine total mortgage payments for a year and/or total debt payments for a year?
    1. Taking mortgage payment on the debts page and multiplying it by the frequency does not give me the amount listed for debt payment for the mortgage under "summary". - Edit - OK, found what was happening here, there was a debt snowball entry I'd done a long time ago and forgotten about. So now mortgage payment X freqency is the number I'm expecting. But yearly expenses in Projection still don't match yearly expenses in Discovery - Edit -
    2. Reducing my mortgage payment, but not updating any other fields, makes the mortgage payment amount for the year under "debt payments" on the summary page go down (makes sense), but then the total expenses for the year under "spending and taxes" goes up. why does that go up?
  4. Related to that, why does "total outgoing" under "expenses" on the projections page, and "debt + expenses" on the summary page, not equal Total Annual Expenses on the Expenses page?

Thanks for any help or insight.
