Where can I take an important meeting remotely?

Like the title says. I have an important meeting I need to take uninterrupted on Wednesday morning. I live out-of-state but visiting family for the week and grew up on the Eastside so know it well.

I'd normally take this meeting at my family's home but don't want to chance my preschooler busting in during the middle of it (no locks on doors here). I thought it'd be a no brainer to go to a KCLS library but many don't open before noon on Wednesday. Bellevue branch opens at 11AM but I'd want to be settled in for the meeting by 11 vs. just walking in and setting up then.

I've worked from private rooms at Capital One cafes before, but their wifi has been consistently laggy for me on video calls so also don't want to risk that.

The ask: Where can I reserve a quiet, private meeting room with strong wifi before 11AM on a Wednesday? TIA for any leads!

Career Coach Recommendations for Creatives in Tech

This is such a niche ask that I'm not sure if someone like this exists but shooting my shot.

I worked for a MAMAA company for 10 years in a content/video discipline. It definitely got to the point where it felt like working for this company had become a core part of my identity though I hadn't realized it at the time.

Then I got let go during mass layoffs last year. The layoff was emotionally traumatic and unexpected. I somehow managed to boomerang back to the company in a consulting role that I landed last fall... until it unexpectedly got cut in recent weeks.

So I find myself unemployed and professionally adrift yet again this summer. I'm also questioning if big tech is still the space I want to be in. Like many of you, I feel so burnt out from this industry. However, I want to approach this unemployed stint with more intention this time and try to better understand what I really want out of my next role.

I'm trying to explore:

  • Does big tech still make sense for me?
    • If so, how can I better position myself and my resume for creative disciplines in big tech?
    • If not big tech, how can I pivot to other tech-adjacent or non-tech companies with my background? How can I re-position my resume for the pivot?

I welcome any suggestions or general advice!
