Fulani braids on white passing woman

Watching love island USA got me (and the rest of the US) searching up Fulani braids. I LOVE how they look.

I have had one protective style before (2 cornrows with my natural hair which stayed for 1.5 weeks on vacation in Jamaica and felt soooo nice to not have to style my curls all the time), but I wanted to ask a question before pursuing Fulani braids in the US.

I am half black. Both of my grandparents are black Jamaicans but my mom popped out pretty white-passing already…Then, she reproduced with a white person and I am even more white-passing/half-Caucasian! I have experienced very limited amounts of racism (typically alongside my black-passing family), but most of the time other black people can clock my blackness.

Getting to the point, I have 3b hair that I JUST started really taking care of. My grandma mainly wore wigs and my mom always straightened her 3c hair. Mine is not kinky by any means, but I have friends who told me my hair could benefit from protective styles like fulani braids. As strangers, would you judge someone who is white passing with fulani braids in public? I don’t want to appropriate anything ever, and know there are plenty of other ways I can take care of my hair.
