Siser ColorPrint Easy HTV Banding issues with Roland VG2-540
Hi all, I’m wanting to get into printing some shirts but I’ve run into some issues printing on HTV and seeing banding occur, even though my regular sticker printing has been fine. Here’s a list of things I’ve tried but still haven’t resolved the issue. Thanks to anyone that reads all of this, it’s driving me crazy! Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Printer: Roland TrueVIS VG2-540
Media: Siser EasyColor printable HTV
Head height: low
Banding is visible even from ~2–3 feet away under normal room lighting
Normal sticker/vinyl output on the Roland has been printing fine recently
Things I’ve already tried:
Standard 10p
Standard 12p
High Quality 13p
High Quality 16p
Uni-directional printing
Bi-directional printing
Error Diffusion
Dither
True Rich Color
True Rich Color Soft
PET Film profile
Generic Heat Transfer profile
Regular sticker/vinyl profile
Lowering heater temps
Feed adjustment calibration at:
-0.05
0.00
+0.05
Shrinking artwork size
Testing different artwork with less solid fill
Manual printhead cleaning
Nozzle check (mostly clean, only tiny minor inconsistencies)
Other notes:
PET Film profile seemed slightly better than other profiles, but banding was still clearly visible
Smaller graphics look cleaner; larger smooth fills show the issue much more
Colors like purple/blue seem to reveal the banding worst
Cyan ink is somewhat low, but not empty
Prints are dry immediately after printing (doesn’t appear to be wet ink smearing)
Feed calibration changes did not meaningfully affect the banding
Increasing passes beyond 12p did not meaningfully improve output
The issue seems specific to printable HTV/transfer media rather than general printer quality
