Creeps in the city

I am a JEE student in kota and this is my 2nd year living here.

People used to say that Kota is very unsafe and i wasn't trusting it. But since past 2 months, this city made me feel very unsafe as a girl.

Like today, I woke up early and thought to wander around with my friend. While walking around, few people commented ki "kitni pyari ladkiyan h.. baat karu inse?" loudly enough for us to hear.

And there was a car roaming around the streets which crossed us 4-5 times. I have noted down the no. Plate too.

And it even glided near us to drag the attention. The boys in the car were staring in a very creepy way.

I never expected Kota to be this unsafe even in broad daylight.

Am I being too nice, or am I just getting used by my friend?

I've been living in the same hostel since last year. The food was terrible and the staff were rude, but I stayed because the rent was affordable.

This year, I became close to two girls (let's call them A and J).

A quickly realized I have a hard time saying no. She'd ask me for help all the time. Once, at 3 AM, she called saying she'd badly cut her leg. I rushed upstairs half-asleep, only to find out it was a prank so she'd have company while walking downstairs.

I let it go, thinking it was just a one-time joke.

Later, our whole group shifted to a new hostel mainly because A exposed how bad the old one was. Since then, she's acted like the self-appointed leader. I don't mind someone taking charge, but she constantly tries to make herself the priority.

Two days ago, she asked me to go with her to our old hostel to collect everyone's laundry. After we reached, she refused to go inside, saying her father had told her not to enter that hostel. I ended up carrying laundry for six people by myself. When I sarcastically said, "Phir aayi hi kyun thi jab andar jaana hi nahi tha?", she started shouting at me in the middle of the road, saying, "Tumne meri ego hurt kar di hai."

I didn't argue because I hate conflicts.

That same night, she woke me and another friend because she was scared to sleep alone. This continued for 2–3 nights. She even kept insisting that I turn on the AC, even though she was the one staying in my room. I don't even like sleeping with the AC on, and the electricity bill matters to me.

To make things worse, J recently told me that A has been backbiting about me in the hostel mess while acting completely normal in front of me.

I genuinely don't know if I'm overreacting or if I've simply been too nice and people have started taking advantage of me.

TL;DR: A friend keeps relying on me because I struggle to say no—fake emergency prank at 3 AM, made me carry laundry for six people while she refused to help, shouted at me for calling her out, kept waking me up to sleep in my room on her terms, and was apparently backbiting about me behind my back. Am I overreacting, or are these genuine red flags?

Need a hostel for girls

The hostel I am currently living is almost average but the food quality has declined so much since last year.

It should be in Old Rajeev Gandhi Nagar, near Safalya as I don' t want to waste much timing in shifting.
