Is it possible to have elective classes around 1st and 2nd year?

I'm SBM-FINMA, and knowing my schedule na, I feel like I have a lot of free time although many have told me to really focus on my course studies (which I diligently will) pero it feels rather lacking kase not used to free time. My relatives who graduated from xu, specifically my mom, don't approve of the idea of taking other classes other than my course subjects, and I do see her point. First year and second year are what some call "hell" (Dili ako nag-quote ha. Katawan kaayo ako mga ate ug kuya).

Gi research nako na it is possible to have elective classes, although I want to get a second opinion if it is possible to take them, considering it is my first and second year pa.

And if it is possible, maybe I'll be aiming for STEM-based or language learning. I will gladly take constructive criticism of this idea lol.

(I keep asking questions here hehe. Thank you again, mga Ates and Kuyas!!!)

Freshie. Need clarification

For days that only have one class, we can basically go to xu by the said schedules and afterwards go home, right?

Dumb question and low effort posting. I just need some clarifications with the schedule

18 A4A Looking for study buddy/buddies in advance

Hi! Incoming freshie who ACTUALLY needs to lock tf in. I can host study sesh for anyone who is interested, esp if you are around the uptown area of cdo and most preferable if you are also within the same school as I am.

Our study sesh should be purely more about collaboration than connection and to hold each other accountable on whatever we have to focus on.

Can do duo or multiple people.

●What I bring on my part:

I occasionally bring:

-index cards

-notebooks

-textbooks

-bond papers (for writing down notes and active recall)

-highlighters

It's also fine if you're not from the same uni as me, also fine if you are in the same or opposite gender, also alright if you're from downtown (just make sure you don't have a hard time coming uptown)

●What we should do:

-Write down our tasks to do and exchange it to the other person/ people and start doing said task.

-Can speak briefly, but again remember it's a study sesh not a conversation sesh.

-maybe talk more about ourselves before meeting up or after sesh is over.

-For quizes, I can quiz you or test your knowledge of your subject and you can do the same to me if you want.

-Teach each other (active recall) about our subjects.

-Provide encouragement, coffee, index cards, and highlighters.

More about me:

-First year in college in XU.

●Preferably:

-Should be around the same age as me or an undergrad student.

-Can provide for their own coffee

-has their own device for studying.

-NOT someone I know so we can further discuss through chat or see in insta

So please, if you are interested, dm me and we'll see how this goes.

Thank you!

(P.s. Just doing this in advance so it can be added to my calendar.)

(Edit: I am female. I just don't want to draw the wrong attention, thank you 🫶)

For current or Alumni XU Uni students, what tips can you give for freshies this coming opening?

Just curious of the responses. I have several family members who are Alumni with last member graduating c.1997

Times may have changed, though for the current students, what widsom can you give for freshies?

can be anything from building routes to best food tips.
