Dealing with family.

Not sure if this is an unique situation or everyone has dealt with this. How do you deal with family who tried to place blame on everything your choices you made? I am on the bigger side, however I don’t drink, smoke, do drugs, or vape. Yet since pathology was released and I shared the news. All I’ve heard non stop is. “It’s all the soda you drank. You gotta stop”. “Its your bike. Riding bikes causes it.” “Stop eating processed foods it’ll increase how fast it spreads”. I am a very optimistic person and can plow my way to happiness most days. But the days these conversations happen, it almost always makes me spiral.

Thanks for listening to my rant y’all.

New cassette or just chain?

Hey guys. I have a trek 7.2fx, today the bike started skipping on 3rd and 4th gear. I do have a bit of tools so I checked my chain and it’s not worn out. Should I change out just the cassette or chain as well?

Pathology is back.

Doctor finally released pathology with no follow up message or appointment. I’ve already message him and should probably hear back in 3-5 days based on prior messages. Anybody know what any of this means is this any good??

Growing worries.

I had my orchiectomy on May 29 and got a message on June 15th saying he had to consult other doctors regarding my pathology. Today he sent me a new message stating he is presenting to the tumor board and I should hear back within 1-2 weeks. Should I be worried? Is this timeframe normal?

Trek fx 7.2

Finally made the bike mine and finished adding the small touches. Got it for $200 about 2 months ago. Since then have given it a full tune up and new chain. Cosmetically I added new grips and pedals and finale tires. Despite many other post… the 700x40 tires fit with plenty of clearance.

New bike?

Hey y’all. I know this community is known for overspending but I got a question and looking for some recommendations. I wanna get into the sport and not spend thousands. Previously I had purchased a used trek 4300 but had it stolen before I could take it out on its first trail ride. Is it worth it getting a used older mountain bike as I previously did or is that an accident waiting to happen? Additionally what are some good used bike models I should be looking for? I will add I am pretty picky and want something flashy. No boring colors.

Seat post

Y’all I got a dumbass question. Most people I see hiking have their seat post pretty high up. Usually at least 4+ inches from the bottom. Am I using the wrong size bike or am I poorly adjusting it? I’ve attached a photo of my bike for reference.

7 days post orchiectomy question

Question for those who may have experience this. I’m 7 days post. On day 5 I noticed clear leakage was coming out and day 6 the leakage turned clear ish red. I called my doctor office and all the said was to take antibiotics and that they will see me on Tuesday. I’m leaking enough blood/liquid to soak through my shorts in the matter of minutes should I be going to the er for this? I have no fever or pain.

5 days post orchi

Recovery was very different than what I imagined. the pain is much more at the incision site then in my testicles, though scrolling this subreddit and getting some briefs ahead of time was a lifesaver. The day of surgery I got sent home in the same clothes I went in and boxers was not the way to go. The pain comes and goes and I’ve weaned off pain killers besides two Tylenols before bed. Now the anxiety of pathology is getting to me.

I can’t stop and think what this would’ve been like if I had pushed the doctor further back in December. They wrote it off as uti and prescribed some antibiotics. Never did a check or even visual inspection just listened to symptoms and called it a day. But I know I can’t dwell on that and glad a minor bike accident drew attention to the issue in April for me to visit the er and get it thoroughly checked out.

While still going through the treatment and discovery of what this may lead to. I am glad I found this subreddit and thankful for each of you here. It has made this journey less scary and led me to many resources I did not know existed and led me to ask questions I didn’t know I needed to ask.

Orchi

Finally had my orchiectomy. Fainted after I was given norco due to bp tanking and that was the scariest part. But other than that my care team was patient and answered all question and did not take any anxiety or fears I had lightly. Though I was so scared I barely ate and drank prior day so finding a vein was tough. So far pain is manageable and I’m walking around like a penguin as needed to use the restroom and such. Scar is much bigger than I thought it would be. Surgeon said it went great. Now to wait and see about pathology.

I will say I did not consider the mental toll at all. As someone who has always been the helper. Having to ask for help and rely on people is hard.

Wish me luck y’all.

Should I get that new bike??

Long story short. I had a used trek 4300 that got stolen early March and had it for about 6 months. Loved it but I never got the full use out of it(mainly street riding with limited off-roading). I decided to go with a suspension less trek fx 7.2 I found used for a fairly good deal. Wayyyyy better riding and easier to pedal. The geometry and sitting position is better. But I’m at a point where I am considering a trek fx sport al. I am finding the 7.2 tires to be to thin and loose control and almost eat shit on the dirt roads I frequent. Is the fx sport a meanwhile upgrade for the bigger tires and disc brakes?

Surgery soon

CT scan came back and they’re going to monitor the nodule. 9 days till surgery and still more scared then ever. I feel they took forever to schedule it from finding it on April 13 to my appointment with urology on May 9 to the surgery on the 29th. Original mass size was a little under 2cm back in April but I feel it’s grown since.

Wish me luck y’all!

Ct scan

Just a rant.

I had my first scan today. Doctor message me within 2 hours saying a nodule was visible and requesting a chest one. I had an xray a month ago exactly and nothing was seen at the time. This whole journey is throwing me on a spiral and I can’t stop worrying.

Issues shifting.

Hi y’all. I got a trek nagivator 200 for a steal due to it needing new shifters and chain. Welp I changed it out and compared chain to prior one. It was all going good, but when in 4,5,6, or 7th the chain feels like it’s slipping under heavy load. The chain is staying in the same gear. Any ideas what to check?

Recently diagnosed

I am honestly so scared and don’t know what to expect. I went in due to pain Apr 14, I thought it was a twisted teste since I had hurt them day prior. During the ultrasound the tech went dead quiet despite making jokes and small talk in the beginning. Doctor immediately ordered chest x rays and tons of blood work. X-ray and bloodwork came out ok, so I was referred to urologist. After reviewing ultrasound and physical check up. He confirmed in his words” looks like cancer feels like cancer” my testicle feels huge and hard and the ultrasound show it’s taking up the entire thing, the other seems fine tho. At this point I just want to know from those who have been through it. What’s the recovery like for the surgery to remove it? What was the journey like? While very knowledgeable my doctor had the emotional intelligence of a pickle. Almost immediate after telling me I have cancer and letting me know he’ll remove it. He called it a day and told me to have a good day and dipped. Didn’t even show me the way out.
